We had booked via booking.com and confirmed the price for 2 adults and 2 children by email. Despite this they charged 150 euros extra for the kids on arrival and spent almost an hour (of our spa-time) checking us in. This was an annoying start. The Deluxe room was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. We found the room to be short a couple of bath robes and towels which was rectified by staff. The spa was nice, albeit a little crowded, and there is a nudist policy for the natural spa (the nicest part) after 17:00. We enjoyed the Turkish bath in the general admission area and the Sauna World. The kids liked the main indoor pool. After this, “welcome drinks” were enjoyed in the hotel bar, but the only two choices were Prosecco and “juice”. The dinner buffet was quite nondescript. It can best be described as a cross between a Las Vegas buffet 20 miles from the Strip crossed with Eastern European hospital canteen food in the 1990s. Nobody really liked anything except for the pork cheeks which were excellent. The dining room is quite grand and might be considered instagrammable by some. The next morning was started with a breakfast buffet. We had high expectations after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, but it was quite disappointing. Again, nobody really liked anything and we ended up eating some fruit and yogurt (the Muesli and nuts were decent). Windfall vegans can rest assured that no hanging fruit was harmed in the making of any of the “juices”. The taste was horrible though. Again, the spa was great. The natural spa is lovely and Sauna World is very enjoyable. Strangely there is no water available for hotel guests except small bottles you can purchase at the bar at exorbitant prices. Day spa guest can fill their own bottles at the entrance. Beer is priced quite reasonably. The check out is at 11:00 despite the spa time lasting till 14:00. Check-out was almost as cumbersome as the check-in procedure and took away another hour of spa-time.

My husband and I stayed at Chatka for one night, upon arrival our host was there to help with everything we needed. The cabin was stunning, imaculate and clean. The interior decor was beautiful and felt like a home away from home.
It is very close to the Aphrodite Spa.
If we had more time we would have stayed longer, we will definitely visit again and highly recommend anyone wanting to stay in the area to book a night or more at Chatka.

Nice, sweet place, easy to find.
Nice, sweet place, easy to find. It's packed with hotels and B&B's
There is a grocery shop and a few stalls on the main square. Also a ping-pong table and man size chess on the square next to the ping-pong table. You can borrow the paddles and chess pieces from there somewhre, just ask at your hotel. We brought our paddles & ball so didn't need theirs.
Would be worth visiting the SPA in Afrodita hotel, but we only stayed for 1 night and headed to the Lietava Castle in the morning.
Enjoy & have fun! ;)

A beautiful place to chill out. Nice and calm, with parks to rest in. Suitable for religious people, as well. Nice churches indeed. The hills are nearby. You can hear the birds sing wherever you go. The hotels are a sight not to miss.

Friendly hosters (and dog too!). Large and comfortable beds, plenty of free space in rooms (good for children in case of bad weather), private terrace. Enough equipment in the kitchen. Private parking. Good start point for the hiking in Súľovské skaly, Strážovské Vrchy or Mala Fatra. A nice restaurant (Farma Bardy) nearby, also a playground.
For people without a car, there's train stop close to the appartment so you can arrive here fom Žilina (train goes every 1-2 hour until 19:30).
Very nice and comfortable hotel with fantastic sauna area and swimming pool. Hotel staff was very kind and ready to fulfil all our needs. Hotel is situated in the middle of family houses area quite close to city center. Parking next to hotel with sufficient capacity. You can arrange trips to very nice nature especially Sulovské mountains or to visit ruins of several castles (Strečno, Lietava).
We had a room on the ground floor, we have been told that they have been renovated recently and it showed. The beds were super comfy and everything was perfectly clean. It was also very quiet.
The location of the pension was just perfect, right in the middle of Rajecke Teplice, close to a park but also nice restaurants.
