I like the free spirit there but the local authorities there...
I like the free spirit there but the local authorities there, who are very corrupt, do nothing for the tourists but strip them of money. There's no public toilets or showers on the beach, so everybody use the sea for a wee. Basically, everybody swim in everybody's pee. Shame on the local authorities. The local authorities rented huge chunks of the beach for entrepreneurs who filled it with beachloungers. Besides, there's a huge tax evasion which is considered normal. Pritty much, nobody pays taxes there and the prices are way too high for what you get compared to the neighbouring Bulgaria.

This year seems more quiet and not so crowded as previuos years. Is nice, to be honest, however there aren't as many open and out door pubs as in the past.
The prices are quite high, though, regardless if is a restaurant or a round around the corner shop.

Vama is a place people go for hedonistic fun.
Vama is a place people go for hedonistic fun. It isn't pretty and the dinning will never be written about in other than mediocre terms, but the people make the atmosphere, and if you have the mood for fun, Vama is the place to go. But maybe just for a few days a year.

Vama Veche is nostalgia for me.
Vama Veche is nostalgia for me. It’s still a bit wild and unsophisticated. Great vibe, perfect for partying with groups of friends. The nightlife over the weekend is pure fun. Best club for me will always be Un Bar, the ‘dancefloor’ is literally the sand by the sea.
Everything goes, you can skinny dip under the moonlight, drink wine by the waves after midnight or go for a sunrise swim, meeting great people on the way and making amazing memories.
Best places to eat are Sandalandala, La Frontiera and Cerhana.

I have been to Vama Veche for over 20 years now.
I have been to Vama Veche for over 20 years now. Whenever I get there, I fell like saying : Honey, I am home ! There is no Romanian who hasn't heard about Vama Veche, so I assume this review applies to foreigners only. Vama Veche it's an upper class Woodstock. It is upper class because there is no mud. Some hippies, but the 2022 version and not many. The place is quite small so you don't need a car. It is about 1 km long, alongside the sea. The main attraction is that at night people dance on the beaches. There is no entrance fee, no bouncers, no dancers, no fences, no walls, just sand and good vibe; music is being played by beach bars with no obligation to buy anything from them. You go to the supermarket, buy whatever you want to drink, at supermarket price and then go to the beaches and drink and dance your ass off. It is safe, no fighting going on unless extreme circumstances; in 20 years I have witnessed maybe 2-3 situations when things went bad. The Police is there, they know their job, young policemen, friendly. The key words are: relaxation, dancing, drinking. Nobody gives a damn on the looks, so if you feel like wearing 20 tatoos , a beau tie and nothing else, feel free to do so. Obviously, men look for picking up girls and the girls enjoy being chased. Business as usual. Enjoy !

Vama Veche has become dirty, crowded, extremely expensive,...
Vama Veche has become dirty, crowded, extremely expensive, with poor quality food and services. All service providers are rather interested in getting their losses out of the pandemic, there's no longer any interest in a good tourist experience. After 10+ years of going there at least twice every year, we give up; Vama Veche as we knew it and loved is dead.
Probably one of the best accommodation options in Vama Veche.
The place is relatively close to the beach and the restaurants/clubs but far enough in order not to be disturbed by the night parties noise. The room was sparkling clean, with new Ikea furniture (including a comfy bed), AC and a rather large fridge.
As an extra, there is a kitchen available on the ground floor with a most needed coffee machine and an electric hot plate.
Free parking available in the courtyard.
Simple guesthouse very close to the beach and the center of Vama Veche but in quiet street. It is a good choice if you travel by car since it has a private parking, considering that in Vama Veche it's not so easy to find parking.
The room was very small but it is OK for those who are just looking for a place to sleep. The guesthouse has also a nice garden with a gazebo.
Is located in a great place, near the main road, on a few minutes' walk to the clubs from Vama Veche. Bonus points here because it is quiet at night, without hearing any noise from the clubs. The staff was very polite with us, they gave us free access at one of the side rooms to stay in the evening. It was perfect.
Very nicely decorated apartments keeping the style of Vama Veche. Quiet area at one end of the village. However, it is not far to walk to the center. The personnel is very friendly. Coffee and a small snack if available in the morning free of charge.
Very good location, very close to the beach, on the same street with Elektra Hotel. As location from the beach, first is Elektra, second is another hotel and third is Vila Maria.
Confortable beds, good shower and clean. Very friendly staff.
The owners are the sweetest people and we had such a great time with them! The rooms were really clean and we even had those hotel little packages with toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, cotton pads, cotton buds. I was honestly impressed.
Pretty nice room, comfortable, good looking, modern. Very nice and responsive host. Plenty parking options; nice and modern street. Only good vibes. :)
Distance to Vama Veche was not a problem for us, ~15 min walking to Cherhana.
The location is very good, near to the beach. Also at the property you have a parking place. The room is pretty small with a small bathroom, but it was clean and good enough for couple of nights at the sea side.
The property is very well located, in a quite place in Vama Veche.
It is not on the beach side but it was not a problem for us.
Not so good for 2 adults and 1 child 9years old but for a night it was ok.
The location is very good for the people who likes Vama Veche as it was some years ago. We liked it. It’s on the beach, like 2 min walking. They have a day menu, which is very good. Staff is great.
Peaceful, quiet, a wonderful place to stay and have a break from the noise and fun in Vama Veche. Everything you need to stay with friends, old and new.
