Herdade da Duabroria is set about 6km from Beja beside a tranquil lake and working farm. The rooms are arranged around a courtyard and we were lucky enough to have enjoyed a view of the lake
The rooms were spacious with a firm but comfortable bed and a separate seating area and small fridge. The bathroom consisted of both a shower and bath which would be a real treat in colder weather.
The pool area was beside the lake so a perfect place to relax and unwind in a beautiful setting.
Breakfast was delicious. On first glance there didn't seem a huge choice but in fact the kitchen staff were happy to oblige, making eggs of your choice to order. Scrambled eggs were available and absolutely delicious! The produce was high quality with fresh fruit, delicious cheese, hams, rolls and cakes on offer. Coffee was available on request and staff were happy to oblige with hot water to fill up our French press pit which we'd taken having read a few negative reviews.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return. Thank you!

It was just a short stay for us, we came late and went early. It is a pretty big hotel with a conventional lobby and rooms, the hallways are nice and spacious so it was just what we needed at the time.
Pousada Castelo de Alvito is a renovated 15th century castle in the village of Alvito, with superb gardens and a swimming pool.

Very cool to stay the night in a castle this old, staff were very friendly and helpful. Alvito is a very small community and is very quiet. It was nice to experience this little community and get off the main tourist path for a while.

Lovely small hotel in the middle of Beja, a location which made getting about easy. The breakfasts were excellent - plenty of choice with foods typical to the region. Very, very friendly people (in fact, some of whom are the owners themselves) and all are really helpful. We would stay again without a doubt.
