The breakfast at Hotel Republica was fabulous, a breakfast fit for a king and queen, and by far the healthiest, and tastiest we have eaten in Portugal. Jose in the dining room is a professional’s professional and a true gentlemen. Tania and Bruno at the front desk could not have been more helpful. We loved this hotel. The room was large and extremely well-appointed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was a large sitting area on the second floor with an honor bar. It made for a great place to re-group as needed. The breakfast was good. The hotel is about two blocks from the main square, which makes it a perfect location for exploring the old city. There are lots of restaurants around. We really enjoyed the ambiance of this place and it was one of our favorites stops in Portugal.
