All the place is very clean and in a good condition, giving the impression that everything is new.
The bedroom was well soundproofed and with all the commodities, including a coffee machine. The mattress was comfortable.

My well furnished room with balcony facing the sea and the lovely lighthouse square. Excellent breakfast with a lot of choices. And, as always, the wonderful staff. My second time here, and I know I’ll be back.
This family-owned hotel is located in the urban centre of Vagos, 10 minutes from the Atlantic’s beaches by car. Aveiro is a 15-minute drive from the Hotel Santiago.

So this gets an 8 even though it met all my needs, only because my 10s go to exceptional, above average places.
Need was comfortable, bathroom was great, but the room was small. However, I didn't hang out on the room, only slept there, so for me, it was fine.
There are a couple good restaurants within 10 min walk and some little markets if you need some water or beer or snacks.
The staff spoke good English and gave me all kinds of tips and suggestions on what to see and when.
I also liked the private parking.
