We loved the building and location - such a treat to be staying in a castle! The tiles and decor make it feel really grand. The bar and restaurant are also lovely and staff were great. The garden and pool area looked inviting, too.

All absolutely beautiful. Every detail. The room was extremely comfortable (good bed, pillows, shower, decoration). The outside is beautiful and calm. The pool, the view, the gardens and animals.

Great little town in the Alentejo on the border with Spain.
Great little town in the Alentejo on the border with Spain. Fantastic market on Saturday morning and the tile museum which is fabulous. There are many wineries in the area and some really good restaurants - Howard's Folly, Merceria Gadanha and the restaurant Gadanha in the hotel.

We loved the town and the efforts gone to celebrate Christmas. We also highly recommend the restaurants we visited and the friendly and helpful staff. In particular the staff at the cafe KIMBO who went out of their way to help when I left my phone there!

Greate place to visit on a weekend, and escaping the agitation of by cities. I recommend being saturday morning in Estremoz and enjoy the market that happens on saturdays until lunch time. In the market you can find many fresh foods. The variety of cheeses is good.

It was a nice town and had a restaurant that we never got around to because it was raining and we ate at the one 50 years from castle reception area. Its a great spot to use as a base as we went to Elvas (great castle and square), Evora, Vila Vicosa from here and returned. You could also do several other towns.

Typical Portuguese historic city, so if history, castles,...
Typical Portuguese historic city, so if history, castles, churches and monuments are your remit/bag then Estremoz has a lot to offer. It also has a marble quarry/hill on its outskirts that makes it Europes 2nd largest marble producer apparently, interesting or is a blot on the landscape? We thought not but reserve full judgement.
Well-maintained castle. Actually, it is a palace. Beautiful sitting area on main floor and restaurant for dinner filled with authentic pieces from the 17th and 18th centuries. Breakfast had lots of variety and very pleasant staff. Lovely outdoor pool. Location has beautiful view of Estremoz and the countryside and it is also a short walk to city centre, restaurants and coffee shops. Would definitely recommend.
Location was great, central for evertything, and easy parking nearby. Breakfast was absolutely fine, great value and included in the room rate. Manager very nice and helpful. Keen to know that we were comfortable with the room, facilities etc. Our room at the back on the 2nd floor had a lovely view and was very quiet. Whilst the hotel appears old and a bit dated, everything was clean, tidy and well kept.
Christina is very thoughtful and nice.. she gave us recommendations of places to visit and she has everything in the house from books to playing cards. The house is also very beautiful and clean. It is well located, not so far from the city center, very near to the castle and has a nice view. We definitely recommend this place !
This was a delightful gem in Estremoz. The staff was wonderful and the chef is passionate and super kind and friendly. breakfast was wonderful and we were sad not to be able to be there when they were open for dinner. We were there during the off season in January, so the town was quiet. Beautiful little city.
I am very disappointed with this hotel and wish to raise a complaint. The bathrooms were not acceptable. The tiles were cracked in the bath and sharp. The carpets were dirty. There was dangerous cables hanging from the ceiling and there was loud music played in the bar below our room until gone midnight.
This hotel was a good break spot as I had been driving long distances. It was cheap, warm, comfortable, hot shower and in the right place with regards to my journey. The price included coffee and a ham and cheese sandwich for breakfast
Super kind service, good facilities and good locations. It's a very pleasant, beautiful and quiet place. There's a small and typical restaurant nearby that is a good choice once the hotel doesn't have any kind of restaurant
This is a beautiful apartment in a perfect location in Estremoz. Very close to the main square. The place is very clean and well appointed! Filipe and Paula are great hosts! Highly recommended!
Our favorite place in Portugal. Gracious hosts, beautiful house and pool, comfy beds and amazing breakfasts.. Close to town with incredible restaurants. Our second visit and we hope to visit again.
POUSADA DE ESTREMOZ IS WELL KNOWN. I WAS USED TO STAY THERE FOR MANY YEARS FOR ITS POSITIVE ASPECTS (LOCATION; SERVICE; QUALITY).
EMPLOYEES ARE STILL NICE BUT THEY CANNOT MAKE MIRACLES.
It's a charming hotel in an excellent location. It's walking distance to the center of Estremoz. Parking on-site which can be a rare find. Great breakfast and a nice outdoor seating area.
This was a beautiful place. We had reserved only one night, but wished we had booked two. The pool was beautiful, and the breakfast was the best we had during a week in Portugal.
lovely friendly welcome, they even saved us a parking spot right outside. great location for expiring Estremoz on foot. lovely balcony with table & chairs to see floodlit castle.
Great hotel. Friendly and energetic staff. Love the place. Amazing soup smell. The country side view was a bonus (vineyards). Close by attraction and great food options.
