Great host, comfortable rooms, and beautiful patio. We got here 'by accident' because of our altitude sickness in Cusco and loved this place right from the start! It's a lot more hospitable, clean and relaxed. The staff gave us great advice and was ready to help wherever they could (laundry, money exchange, touristic places, etc). Thank you very much!

Lovely quiet hotel on the edge of Ollantaytambo. Walking distance from the train station for Machu Picchu. Comfortable bed, decent shower, and a fantastic breakfast. Biker friendly! Incredibly generous host let me leave my motorcycle and bags at the hotel for two days while I visited Machu Picchu. Amazing.

We were received well. Nice view from the terras. The beds were so comfortable. Bathroom new, with hot showers and the room was way less cold than the older buildings in Ollantaytambo or Cusco.
Delicious breakfast and everything super clean.
We left our bags for 5 days to start the Inca trail and didn't have time to pick them up between the train to come back and bus to Cusco. They didn't hesitate to help us safely drop off our bags so we could continue our journey. Thank you so much!

The absolute best town to stay for your trip to the Sacred...
The absolute best town to stay for your trip to the Sacred Valley or Machu Picchu! The most beautiful historical centre and with ruins on both sides to ecplore. What an amazing town! Do mot even think about staying in Aguas Calientes, here there is so much character and history with the most beautiful architecture to explore and streers to get lost in. Definitely a must stay over!!

We made Ollantaytambo our home base for our Sacred Valley...
We made Ollantaytambo our home base for our Sacred Valley visit and were glad we did. It was small enough to walk everywhere, the train station, the square, the archaeological park, the original pre-colonial section of town. We visited in the low season in the last half of February and enjoyed the smaller number of visitors.

We messed up our communication and did not get tickets to Machu Picchu. Do your research and purchase tickets BEFORE you arrive…months in advance for high season. Nevertheless we toured the archeological wonders of the Sacred Valley— Temples of the sun and moon and more. It was very spiritually powerful and architecturally awe inspiring, did not feel like a consolation prize for missing MP…. Just a reason to come back. Do not miss this tour if you are hire… and hire the guide. It’s worth it. Food was great here too.

We loved this town. In total we stayed 3 nights.
We loved this town. In total we stayed 3 nights. And would've preferred to stay another night instead of returning to Cusco. The restaurants are plenty and good, the people are so nice, and the coffee shops are nice. Hiking all around, and the ruins and market are enjoyable.
Both walking everywhere is good and getting a taxi is also easy.

We decided to go there straight from Cusco to be better acclimatized before heading to Machu Picchu. We visited sites like the salt mines along the way to Ollantaytambo and stayed in Cusco at the end of our trip. Our accommodation host Alex did all of the arranging and was super helpful. Ollantaytambo was a great start to our trip. A very safe town full of culture that is easy to get around. The Inca sun temple was definitely worth visiting and we highly recommend getting one of the guides who will explain all of the significances of the site. Highly recommend visiting Ollantaytambo and where we stayed. It was a great start to our vacation!
Freddie and his wife were very great and helped us with everything we needed (transport, tours, general recommendations). When we went to Machu Picchu early in the morning they prepared a breakfast to go for us. The breakfast was also very good, we were able to chose the time for breakfast every day. The location was amazing, very close to the train station (3 minutes) and about 10 minutes to the Plaza de Armas/Ollantaytambo Ruins. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay in Wayras Hostal when in Ollantaytambo!
This is a small hotel within walking distance from the town square. It's simple but still charming, clean and quiet. We decided to stay in Ollantaytambo ("Ollanta") instead of Machu Picchu Pueblo (ex Aguas Calientes) which turned out to be a good choice. Ollanta is a nice little village with their own inca-heritage. The train station is easy accessable for the morning train to Machu. The staff (mother and daughter?) in the hotel is helpful and friendly. Would we stay there again? Yes, probably.
The views, star gazing, amazing food and excellent staff. A five-star experience, right from the pickup at the cusco airport to dropping us back to Ollantaytambo station.
I was a bit worried about not knowing spanish, but Virginia speaks English, French and Spanish very fluently and was a perfect host, sharing details of the place and Sacred Valley.
Virgina and Juan were very nice and took us to show Llamas they had in the property, my four year old was very happy to pet them.
Renato and Elizabeth are amazing hosts. They were both very personable and helpful. At breakfast, they were kind enough to cut up fruits that I bought at the market. The property is clean, quaint, and is right beside the river. The room was adequate and there was hot water and enough blankets to not feel cold at night. It's not too far from the main plaza as Ollantaytambo is not a huge town. I was able to walk everywhere from the hotel and felt safe
We stayed here twice--before heading up to Machu Picchu and heading back from Machu Picchu--the location at the train station makes this so easy and they will store extra luggage while you're at Machu Picchu. What a great place to stay--restaurant and garden are really superb and there is a back pathway to the town of Ollantaytambo with its own spectacular ruins and interesting and historic back streets, truly a living Incan town.
Location is great! Close to the ruins, the view was amazing! Walking distance to everything. The family that owns this hotel is very sweet and made me feel welcomed and safe. They even helped me get to the train station via moto taxi very quickly due to my driver not being able to locate me. I was able to make my train to Machu Picchu. They are very accommodating and I slept great after a long day.
Amazing place to stay!! Couldn’t be closer to the train station and perfectly located as a base for exploring the sacred valley/ Machu Picchu. Ollantaytambo itself also has amazing ruins and a number of restaurants/shops. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - helped to organise tours and make the most of our stay. Stunning gardens within the hotel site, and incredible fresh food.
Great hotel in Ollantaytambo , clean and walkable distance to the center, next to some amazing beautiful ruins that you can hike to and have all to yourself. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable. Ollantaytambo is an amazing town that has plenty to do! do yourself a favor and spend a few nights here! Oh and the view from the rooms is breathtaking!
Great location, just one block from the main plaza, 1 block from the Inca archaeological site, and 4 blocks from the train station. Hosts were really nice and attentive, helped us putting together a tailor made tour to the sacred valley with a private driver. The room is small but enough, the bathroom is outdated but with hot water and really clean.
Good location, 5mins walk to ollantaytambo ruins entrance, 3mins walk to main square, 15min walk to train station. Stuffs are very friendly and helpful. breakfast is great! And the living area is beautiful, with fantastic mountain view and beautiful stars in evening . Hot water is okay even in late night. warm and comfortable bed. really good hotel.
The hotel is super close to the train station, 5 minutes away. So, if you choose to leave from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu early in the morning, it is a very good option. They also provide a frugal breakfast to go early in the morning.
The shower was great, good pressure & hot water.
The room was clean & offered all we needed for 1 night.
Great hotel, very clean, spacious and modern rooms and all facilities. Fantastic patio & garden. Staff was excellent and provided full support to us. We actually stayed one night more than we originally planned. CEO Franz was very pleasant. Strongly recommend to anyone staying in Ollantaytambo.
This hotel was fabulous. We woke up to a view of the ruins close by. The breakfast was delicious and locally sourced. The staff were very helpful and recommended some good places to eat!
We loved the cozy decor and central location. The train station is an easy 10 min walk away.
It is a charming hotel with a great location - easy to walk to the main plaza and restaurants and the train station. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was very accommodating about serving breakfast to us very early when we left for Machu Picchu.
We absolutely loved this hotel! We are a family of 4 and found this hotel to be the PERFECT place to relax after our long trek on the Inca Trail. So grateful for this beautiful hotel - I can't imagine a better place to stay in Ollantaytambo!
Maria was very welcoming and help us with all our requests.
The temple/fortress is super near the hotel, a 3 minutes walk.
The train station is also near (10-15 min walk or super fast in mototaxi).
A lot of restaurants nearby.
Best hotel in Sacred Valley.
We enjoyed our stay here. Property is clean, quiet and with a good location.
They have hot water. It has very good ratio price/value.
And they have amazing breakfast with pancakes as well!
The location of this hotel was perfect, the train station is a 5 min walk down the street, the ruins & market were close as well. We missed out on the breakfast due to early departures.
The personnel of the Rupaq hotel waited for us until very late in the night and they were lovely. The breakfast is good and the room is calm, very good value for money in Ollantaytambo.
Adorable B&B with great breakfast and incredibly friendly and kind staff. Hotel pets were very cute and friendly! Would definitely stay again if in Ollantaytambo!
