The 'Tree House' rooms are really exceptional. They're individual stand-alone chalets, set in an absolutely beautiful rainforest with ferns, trees, and lush green plants along a narrow path. They appear brand-new, and were in excellent shape. Ours did not have a spa, but some do.
The on-site restaurant, Monsoon, was friendly and comparable with anything in town.

Bernie & Gerard were magnificent hosts! They made every effort to make us feel at home and tend to our needs. Louise and I were most impressed with their highly personal engagement, beautiful home, and are especially grateful for all of their assistance and guidance during our stay. Such a peaceful location with stunning mountain views. Had a great night with the other guests chatting around the dining table. Unfortunately I grabbed a bite to eat before arriving and missed the amazing dinner they were having but was able to enjoy a few glasses of wine and their company. The bed was so comfortable and much appreciated after my all day trip from Wellington. Woke up to the sound of bird song and the distant moo of a cow. The view of the sun rising over Mount Adam from the lounge with fresh coffee in hand set the tone for the rest of my day. Breakfast was generous, hearty and delicious. Much, much better than a Motel stay and felt more like visiting friends.
