An absolutely beautiful haven. Cabins are so well fitted out, and the whole site is very classy.
Heated floors in the bathroom are amazing.
The cedar hot tub (with a cold beer) is not to be missed.

The bush, the quietness and rustic charm.
We loved the feel of the place, its warmth and decor. Such a pleasure to be somewhere that strives to be at one with nature.
Wonderful breakfast provisions and the homemade sourdough was lovely.

Whangamata can give you what you want, whether its a quiet peaceful time or a bit of a night out. Lovely walks whether ir is a beach, forest or hill walk. Golf course, cycling tracks, or just a gentle stroll on the beautiful beach. Lots of cafes, places to eat, like European, Thai, Indian, Turkish Kebab or fish & chips as well as 3 clubs in town for a small fee can enjoy a drink as well as lovely food. A brochure on how to work the dishwasher would help.
A brochure on how to work the dishwasher would help. We don't have one at home so didn't like to use it. Also had difficulty getting TV going. We rang and a lady came and helped with that and connecting to WiFi.

The town centre is small but pretty busy for the off season we had been there. However, not on Sundays, were almost everything is closed. The beaches are fantastic and also the mountainbike park nearby is really nice (note: you need a daypass for $20)

We always find Whanga a great place to stay in the off season. It has a lovely small town vibe when there are less people around. The beach is a great walk from the harbour to the estuary. You don't need to drive anywhere just walk.

Loved view and sound of the sea.
Loved view and sound of the sea. Plenty of cafés and bakerys. Lots of shade tables and chairs to sit under nice wide streets Plenty of parking.subway a great place for lunch. New world Plenty to offer.
It is all that you could want in a beach accommodation. We loved the deck and the sunlight that streamed into the unit. The place is just a bit scruffy around the edges, but really comfortable and ideally located. It is a super short walk to the beach. The owner was keenly helpful with information about Whagamata, the islands and SUP rentals.
Very comfortable and spacious apartment. Greenbelt area behind the hotel, lovely view. Everything very clean and well stocked for an extended stay if needed. Kitchen and dining area included, along with a living room area to relax. Not in the middle of town, so it's nice and quiet.
Room was great and really more like a small studio so there was plenty of space! We unfortunately only stayed for a night but the spacious closet and kitchenette would make this a great place for a longer stay. Great location close to downtown area and beaches.
Hosts Lynda and Mark are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Stayed a number of nights and the rooms were warm, comfortable and well equipped for my needs. Good choice of TV satellite channels. Location is near Whangamata town centre and safe and private.
Room was clean and comfortable. Host was very helpful, responsive and approachable. Love the pool and spa pool. Very modern property. Love that there's Netflix and Sky available with good internet despite the rurality. Lots of amenities available.
The apartment was spacious, clean & tidy.
There were plenty of kitchen items such as cutlery, crockery and a smart microwave and coffee machine.
The beds were comfortable too.
The apartment was close to the estuary, which was handy for walks.
Spacious and in an excellent location. It is close to the shops and restaurants. The beach very nearby is gorgeous. Des made us feel very welcome and was so helpful and generous. We especially enjoyed our bottle of fizz.
I love the facilities here - spa pool, table tennis, kaya, etc; it has all you need to enjoy your beach day. Accessing the beach is handy - less than a 2-minute walk. We have a great time here.
Spacious, quiet, comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation. Just a short walk to the beach or to town. Plus a very helpful owner who has some great local knowledge.
The motel was exceptional. Way beyond what we could have hoped for. The room was lovely with plenty of space and facilities. There was also a hot tub guests could use.
A great beach location in Whangamata township. With extra friendly staff and fantastic amenities that include an immaculately kept pool, Spa, Sauna and Tennis Court.
