Waihi Beach is good to visit.
Waihi Beach is good to visit. It is a pleasant size for amenities.
I like it because it has shops that are good for supplies as well as browsing. There are reasonable cafes and a pub that has a good restaurant. It is not far from main highways and has a good climate. The beach is good for swimming, however rips can be in evidence on occasions.
There is a good walk to a nearby bay and also up to a trig station above the town It would also be a place you could use bikes to explore. In all, something for most people.

Great beach for taking a long walk. walking towards Flat White cafe or into the little village shops. I didn't have time to walk the other way around to the next beach - which is very picturesque. Even on a rainy day, with big surf, a stunning spot.

Waihi Beach is beautiful.
Waihi Beach is beautiful. Very popular cafe, Flat White, right on the beach. I would also recommend going to The Secret Garden, especially after 4.30pm when the Tiki Bar opens. The market was on as well which was nice and relaxing with tables or mats to lounge around on and enjoy the music.

Waihi Beach and Waihi are not places most tourists are familiar with. It has an old word charm about with all the modern ammenities one could expect. It is somewhat like a hidden treasure. There is a beautiful gorge nearby. The town is neat and clean. The drive from Auckland to Waihi Beach is very scenic. We stopped a lot along the way. There is also a great fully equiped gym in Waihi Beach that tourists can use and pay per day called Body Mechanics.
The hosts have done a fantastic job, the property was so lovely and tidy. Excellent and quiet location; a quick walk through the beautiful sand dunes and you would be on the beach! Julie and Cam were so helpful and had great suggestions for local places to eat or activities to do. If you get the opportunity, I would highly recommend going along with Julie to a yoga class in the forest right next to Waihi Beach, such a peaceful experience to get you into holiday mode! Definitely will stay here again!
As a family of 5 (13, 11 and 3) we enjoyed all the services this accomadation provided. The rooms were equipped with basic needs to cook our kai with, the pool was a big hit. We even used the gym regularly, the laundry room was easy to use and main kitchen was there if we needed anything extra. There we many public toilets and showers which were also easy to use. Waihi Beach as a whole was a good experience for us and we are looking forward to returning back! There was a really good vibe about it.
We were pleasantly surprised by the thoughtfully arranged and presented collection of homemade snacks waiting for us on our arrival.
The location in the older part of Waihi beach next to farmland made it feel restful and charming. The well layout gardens delighted the gardener in me too. We enjoyed the outdoor bath after a long hike and the privacy the property offered.
We found the property to be a great layout and safe especially for our kids. The cabins were clean and not outdated at all. Staff are so friendly and helpful! Location was handy to the beach and not far from the main town. This is the first time we visited Waihi Beach and hopefully it won’t be the last! We loved our time away there even with the rain!
It was cheap, and clean with a comfortable bed. The host proactively communicated instructions of how to get there (up the long drive, around behind the house) and where the key was, and left us in privacy. It is a 5-10 minute drive to the lovely Waihi beach. There is a microwave, fridge, a TV with Freeview and a couple of comfortable chairs
We loved Kotare Ridge. Beautifully located plus quiet but close to the main Waihi Beach. Lovely, comfy and very nice adequate breakfast. The suite was very clean and beautifully decorated. The only slight downside was very awkward parking but that cannot be helped due the hilly surrounds Hope to stay there again
the location was excellent! Right in the heart of Waihi Beach and surrounded by shops and cafe's and a short walk to the beach. The beds were so comfortable and the room was quiet and cozy. Great communication with the host and overall and awesome stay!
Excellent self contained apartment and excellent friendly hosts who treat you like friends. Best place to stay in Waihi Beach by far. 3 mins walk to the beach and a big spacious 2 Bedroom apartment with all facilities and a huge deck with your own Bbq
We had a great stay at The Barn at Bowentown, Waihi Beach. Communications with the property manager were friendly and helpful. Lovely modern apartment, well setup with everything you are likely to need. Close to Bowentown end of the beach.
Peter and Karen were fabulous hosts, they were exceptionally helpful. The accommodation was just as described, in a perfect location, close to the beach and Waihi Beach village.
