The accommodation was warm and clean and everything was provided eg breakfast cereals, milk and all the toiletries. The wifi connection was fantastic too. My most favourite part was the personal touch with the WHITTAKER'S chocolates on the bed (the best chocolate). The place also smelt absolutely wonderful and makes the stay even more comfortable.

Breakfast was good. The room was noisy due to loud guests and some road noise. Hosts went to no end of trouble to make us feel welcomed.
The single bed needed replacing but everything else was good.

Silverdale is the perfect place to spend one night or two,...
Silverdale is the perfect place to spend one night or two, as you are passing through. Cheaper than staying in the Auckland CBD, Silverdale is about 20 mins drive north of the city and caters to couples and groups sharing multiple rooms. The house is massive and offers a spotless kitchen equipped with coffee and tea. The bathroom is gorgeous (luxury!) and you can enjoy a hot bath or shower in absolute comfort. There is also a nice lounge area on a large, private deck and prepare yourself to be greeted by the most lovely and welcoming hosts, July & Jenny (and their dog, Dong Dong). Would definitely stay here again if passing through Orewa.

Orewa petanque club is very close to Silverdale.
Orewa petanque club is very close to Silverdale. I was there to play in a tournament so enjoyed it for that reason. Silverdale is close to the Orewa Ocean Beach and childrens playground, Whangaparaoa Peninsula, Orewa township and the shops in Silverdale village itself are excellent.
