Charming waterfront and very child friendly.
Charming waterfront and very child friendly. The pirate boat play area and splash pad is so nice for the little ones. We only walked around the centre up to the walkway bridge which present a marvelous view. As we are not trekkers, we only passed by Picton to proceed to Nelson from Wellington, and as overnight stop for the Interisland ferry back. There were many road closures when we visited. The ferries between the north and south island arrives/leaves from Picton. You can kayak, dine or hit the Queen Charlotte Track. The track is a total of 70km with accommodation along the way. Despite informing the hotel through Booking.com about our late arrival due to a ferry delay, no one was present to receive us upon our arrival. We found a notice outside the locked door with a contact number, but unfortunately, it was not reachable. As a result, my family and I were left stranded outside in the rain and cold weather.
