The location is perfect, quiet and calm, but close to the center if you wanna hangout for dinner. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff is incredible, always smiling and giving you advices or help to organize your activities in Chitwan National park. The park itself is gorgeous and the jungle walk is definitely one of the highlights !

Located away from the centre this was an ideal place to stay. The proprietor of the hotel was very friendly and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed at the hotel for breakfast and evening meal and these were exactly what we expected, providing Nepalese meals rather than western offerings. We used Dilip to organise our trips within the National Park. He accompanied us on both days along with another local guide. There knowledge of the Park and the animals within were exceptional and we were glad we chose to go with them rather than other organised tours offered in the main town. I'm not sure we can offer enough praise for the walking safaris that were organised as both guides went out of their way to ensure that the we experienced the National Park at it's best. We chose a half day jeep safari where they were not present and the knowledge of the guide then was a lot less, Dilip even arranged for us to be picked up after the day had finished. Although being out of the town it is close enough to travel to it if you wanted to experience the restaurants on offer.

Hotel National Park- A Peaceful Family Home in Sauraha, hotel in Chitwan

Boasting mountain views, Hotel National Park- A Peaceful Family Home in Sauraha features accommodation with balcony, around 1.4 km from Tharu Cultural Museum.

The best place to stay in Chitwan! The building is stunning and overlooks so much nature! The people who work here treat you like family and are lovely 24/7. They sort out all trips and stays while visiting and the food options here are plentiful! People said 7 nights here would be too long but honestly it wasn’t enough! Cold beers on the balcony can’t be beat!

Make sure you visit the animal friendly project Stand Up 4 elephants! It’s free and you meet two rescue elephants ladies :) We did a full day jeep safari and a half day jungle walk+canoeing. We were lucky and saw a bear, a bison, wild elephants and rhinos. Lots of colourful birds, crocodiles, monkeys etc. but you need luck to see the big animals. It’s sad that it is allowed to ride elephants in the Nationalpark what is an absolutely animal crime and the idea of a Nationalpark is to protect animals and nature. Also, to make more money, they let start five jeeps with one or two guests in it instead of putting them together. So they need to make more efforts and be more eco friendly. It worth a visit when you are already in the country and have time. But two days are enough.

Chitwan National Park is extremely wonderful with a combination of forest, grassland and marsh with the River Rapti and its tributaries flowing right in between the forest area. Also the wildlife is varied with tigers, spotted deer, rhinos, crocodiles and birds. Ample number of jeep and walking safaris here with knowledgeable guides and stay in the village with Nepal food

It was my second visit to Chitwan.

It was my second visit to Chitwan. I'll be returning again soon, to see more of what I haven't seen yet. I've, the crocodile breeding centre and the elephants. Plenty of places to choose from for meals. Easy to walk around the town, apart from where the streets are being improved. Plus, even when many tourists there, it doesn't seem crowded. Pleasant weather during my time there. Plus, I managed to see several football World Cup games, at different bars/restaurants.

Chitwan is relatively small and poor town.

Chitwan is relatively small and poor town. It's easy to commute by renting a bike. There's no taxi or just tuk-tuk. It's better to visit Chitwan in Summer as you will see more animals in the national park and take better pictures. In winter, it's very moist, with a deep fog in the morning until noon. And animals are rare.

Great for a relaxed time after trekking and nice contrast to the dirty and busy cities. Many wild animals to see and beautiful nature. We were there in october so the grass was very high. Winter and spring are said to be better for Safari since the grass is cut then. I absolutely hated how some elephants are treated. I don't want to generalise this but on a canoeing tour with jungle walk we visited a national elephant farm. All elephants were chained in a fenced area. Some even on both front feet so that they really couldn't move. Some seemed to be completely traumatised.
