Van der Valk hotel Den Haag Wassenaar, hotel in Wassenaar

Van der Valk hotel Den Haag - Wassenaar is centrally located in between The Hague and the beach of Scheveningen. The hotel offers free parking and free, unlimited Wi-Fi for guests.

If you're seeking a hotel in The Hague that offers complimentary parking, free WiFi, and breakfast included, look no further – this is the place! This marks my second visit, with the previous one predating the renovation. Despite its simplicity, it left us satisfied. Upon learning of the renovation's completion, we eagerly booked a beach suite. Bedroom: The design exudes charm, and the space is ample. However, the placement of two thin, tall closets directly opposite the bed, flanked by nightstands, is somewhat inconvenient. The addition of thin curtains next to the nightstand light adds a cozy ambiance. The mattress and pillows are well-selected and firm. Bathroom: - The peculiar location of the light switch outside the bathroom requires turning it on upon entering and off before sleeping, which is inconvenient. Moreover, there's insufficient lighting near the mirror. - The lack of a door in the shower room leads to discomfort and water splashing throughout the bathroom. After showering, one must retrieve a towel from the vanity sink and mop the floor, as there are no anti-slip features. Additionally, the low position of the shower head holder is puzzling. - The absence of a small trash bin and towel hangers further diminishes the suite's functionality. Living room: The design is charming, and the space is generous. However, the placement of the power outlet behind the couch is inconvenient. Nonetheless, the additional coffee table is a nice touch. However, the fan's loud rumbling sound is bothersome. Toilet: Separated from the bathroom, the toilet lacks motion sensors and ventilation. WiFi: It's one of those frustrating setups where you have to consent to join, and occasionally, glitches may occur. Breakfast: The selection is good, offering various options like different kinds of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes with cheese, smoked salmon, and yogurt with granola. The standout item is the honey – a must-try! Bathtub: Impeccable!

Hotel location is nice. Ten minutes walk to the beach. The hotel is nicely furbished and very clean. The small room was actually very very small. There was room just for a small double bed. The bed was not very comfortable either. The bathroom although very small served its puropose.

Wassenaar is clearly an affluent area of NL.

Wassenaar is clearly an affluent area of NL. My Dad likened it to the Mayfair of Den Haag. Huge, beautiful houses and clean/quiet streets. Local shops are efficient and easy to find and the beach is great during the warmer months. Our highlight, and main reason for our first visit (of many) over 10 years ago, was Duinrell. A theme park and water park all in one, perfect for all ages and reasonably priced too.

The room was very comfortable and clean. You can make nice walks in the surroundings of the hotel but to go to a restaurant or to have a coffee you need to take the car. Little bit strange was that the breakfast (served on the table, no buffet) was a lot more extensive on the first day than on the second. The staff is very friendly and helpfull.

It was a great experience, lovely staff, great restaurant and a very good location. We walked to the museum of Contemporary art and back, and enjoyed the nature. The Hague is only a bus away running on punctual and frequent services. We had a great view from the room and a very nice breakfast. The castle is in a very good state overall.

The house was almost directly in the city center, so we could got to everything we needed (shopping, restaurant, cafe, icecream) within minutes walking or by bike. House was equipped with everything necessary and there was really much space so that all family members could even have their "own zone".
