A visit to the the Kroller Muller Museum in Otterlo is...
A visit to the the Kroller Muller Museum in Otterlo is highly recommended! Aside from a great collection of fine art, there are also beautiful sculptures scattered around the huge property grounds. Its a very beautiful place both outside and inside. This is a must visit when going to the Netherlands.AAnonymous - 8.0Scored 8.0
Otterlo - being one of the entrances into the Hoge Veluwe...
Otterlo - being one of the entrances into the Hoge Veluwe National Park is exactly what you would expect from a town with about 2000 inhabitants. It has everything you would expect: A well-stocked super market, a few other shops, a handful of restaurants. While it is served with bi-hourly buses from nearby NS stops Ede, Arnhem and Barneveld, if you go anywhere Hoge Veluwe you will need a car.

We went to the museum and on forest walks - the 'otterlose bos - jeneverbessenbos ' walk is really lovely. Otterlo & its shops is closed on a sunday, so come prepared. Overall very friendly & beautiful surroundings We stayed at beeksehoeve & made our own meals, lovely

The Kröller-Müller museum with its sculpture park is a pearl as is the surrounding park where you can see around on free rental bikes ("white bikes"). A deser-like landscape with sand dunes and dead trees in the middle of a perfectly normal forest - a bit otherwordly.

Beautiful small village with, we had amazing time there. We chosed this place due its entrance into National Park, where we spent lovely day. We enjoyed the local restaurant, where we had fantastic food. I only wish we stayed there for more days than we did. Definitely woul love to go back,

Cute, small country village/town. Lots of farming in the area. Nice dining available - be sure to make reservations in advance if staying over the weekend as seating is limited at the best venues. Near the National Park. Great biking options all around town.

The house was very clean, with luxury finishes, well equipped (all the appliances worked), nice, fully fenced garden (perfect for our dachshund). The bathroom was new with a nice, big shower. We took our small barbeque with us and had fantastic weather to enjoy this part of the Netherlands. The two electric bicycles were very handy and welcomed :) Loads of bicycle tracks in the area and the town Otterlo and its people are absolute gems. Everything was perfect and we had a great time.

The hotel itself is situated in the middle of the woods, with trails leading out basically from its terrace into the typical Veluwe landscape. The breakfast was great. The buffet may seem a bit less generous than some other places but this is a false impression. One can select from a wide ranging menu, all made fresh to order. He let us in the room even before check in time which was great because it started to rain and we could not go out walking while waiting to check in. He also let us leave our bags by the front desk the next day while we went to the Kroller Muller museum and he let us sit around at the front of the hotel while waiting for our pick up. Our breakfast was good too! All very good experience with this very friendly and very clean hotel!

The host's communication was fast and perfect and he provided us with detailed information about the accommodation, the check-in was easy. The village of Otterlo is also very lovely and there are a lot of possibilities for bike trips. The studio lodge was spacious, modern and comfortable. The kitchen nice and the outdoor space perfect. The bed was super comfortable. Added bonus was you could rent the jacuzzi for a few hours. We thoroughly enjoy our stay and hope to be back in the future.

He also provided a tower fan which was very useful during the hot days. We really loved Otterlo and all the forests in the area, including the National Park Hoge Veluwe. Trips to Amsterdam by car took only one hour at the most.
