The staff was very friendly, helpful and responsive, especially when we needed to organize a taxi arriving late at night. They also made it possible for us to check in late. The breakfast was also good and you could choose from several options. The pool area is big and looks nice. Room and bathroom were clean.
Internet was very fast and easy to access.

I did a full week surf camp and loved it, so extended my stay with 1 day. The surf classes are amazing and the food is absolutely delicious (they cater to vegetarians and vegans as well). The pool is fun and cleaned regularly. The facilities are OK.

The views from the room were nice. The room was colorful and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was good and the hotel helped to organize a scooter for rent.

PROS
* Value - Although I wouldn’t call this cheap (it cost 173USD for three nights for three people in a private room with bathroom, air con etc) it was a lot cheaper than it’s competitors.
* Location - it’s only a block from the beach and the action
* Air conditioning - did work although did break down the second night. They fixed this.
* Hot water - like the air conditioning did work but broke down on the second night. They did fix this
* Communal kitchen - combined with a fridge in our room this allowed us to self cater
* Staff were friendly as as mentioned above did deal with issues in a prompt manner.
Security - Was good. Deadlocks on doors and bolts on windows. Has someone on the entrance 24/7.

The water slide, pools. and diving area were incredible. Food was excellent with good options. Breakfast was excellent. Loved the location nestled away in nature. Grounds are stunning. And of course the "standard king room" is a full size suite / 1 bedroom apt!

There's something magical about this little beach community.
There's something magical about this little beach community. The vibe and energy are great- restaurants and bars with excellent food & drink everywhere. Locals and tourists are friendly and helpful. We know a tiny bit of Espanol but were able to communicate with no issues, and English is spoken more prevalently than I had expected. Can't wait to visit again!!

It is a busy town, with lots of surfers and retired folks living or visiting. Lots of motorbikes for getting around. Some excellent restaurants along the beach front including Henry's Iguana Bar, and Maggies' Restaurant up the street. Good fish tacos at little kiosk. Great beach walks, lovely sunsets and a few hikes to do. One to the Jesus protecting the bay and the other to the lighthouse on the opposite side of bay. Wear good shoes for those.

Great little beach town with numerous bars and restaurants with amazing sunset views. Very walkable even in flip flops. Not a bad meal to be found! Lots of fun places to watch American football if you like that.

everything is walking distance, you can get to the know the town easily just walking around. I liked Vivian restaurant, nice place, clean, friendly staff.
the beach was full of trash... plastic trash, cups, bottles, cookie wraps, cans... trash all over the sand and in the ocean and for some reason nobody seems to care. it was very impressive and quite sad.
Looking Good Surf House was a great place to stay!

The town wasn't as bad as I was expecting!
The town wasn't as bad as I was expecting! pretty calm in the day and evening, not sure about after that! we were there 2 days and for us that was just right. We went to Remanso beach one day and Maderas beach the other. Rented boards at each and tried to surf! Maderas waves were better, at least when we were there in April. We were at the beaches for about 5 hours each day. I didn't love the fact that Remanso had no shade and neither seemed to have much for facilities, except the few bars/restaurants that you kinda had to eat/drink at in order to have some shade or a shower or somewhere to hang out. Not really my favourite scene. SJDS itself was small town seeming in the center and easy to get around walking and lots of food options and the beach in town was great to explore with the kids, swim or watch sunset. It's easy to get in and our of either on bus from Rivas or taxi- 20$ from the Ometepe Ferry for 4 of us. 25$ to the border organized through Casa Oro.

In the town there are a lot of open sewers and the smell is bad in many places. There is a lot of trash here and there. There is a lot of trash around the beach. The food is ok, the prices are alright. The better prices are away from the beachfront.
Tamarindo is a much nicer and cleaner beach. The Nica's need to clean up the trash and the open sewers.

Morgan’s Rock sits in a fantastic spot, right on a perfect beach you’ll likely have all for yourself (or almost) with sunsets guaranteed. We found the staff superb! Our bungalow was a piece of tranquil eco luxury in which we felt super comfortable. Food is great, clearly with Nicaraguan character, and at its best. You’ll see monkeys all around. We actually had a sloth sitting in the tree besides our bungalow. A stay is pricey but comes highly recommended if you are looking for tranquility in a high end eco setting.
We loved everything about it, especially the quick response when it comes to issues we had on the property like no electricity, I texted Ricardo the person in charge he came right away at 5 am to turn on the generator. The view is amazing! Really worth it! Now if you do not like the noise at night I will recommend bringing earplugs. Nature is amazing and san juan del sur is close as well.
Thank you Ricardo see you next year!
P.s you will need a 4x4 auto 🛺
Very cool hotel, unlike any I have been too. They have a skateboard park, waterslide, waterpark, rock climbing wall and a bunch of other activities all blended into the resort. It was a pretty unique experience and not to mention the staff were super friendly and attentive, the landscaping was kept up, food was great and well priced, especially the Pizza, best pizza I have had in Latin America. Overall great stay and I recommend it to everyone!
The best place to stay in San Juan Del Sur by far. The level of cleanliness is the highest you could wish for, it's an incredible job the lady does. And to all the staff who play the part in running a very friendly, helpful, relaxed hotel. All done with effortless professionalism. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else in San Juan before Chales House. Highly recommend.
I loved the remote location from the San Juan del Sur Bay crowd. I also loved the super friendly and super nice staff. I loved it's a beautiful place right on the water. It's located only 3 minutes from a beach where you can see lot of turtles laying eggs. The 15 minutes dirt road to get there is well maintained. I loved you can see the sunset in front of you.
This place has a good location, and for the price bracket in San Juan del Sur it is reasonable.
Free WiFi worked well
Nice cold shower to cool down
Use of kitchen etc
Overall it is fine for the price as long as you spend most of your time out and about. I wouldn't call it an especially nice place to stay but it's secure and there's a roof over your head.
Lovely, charming traditional house converted to hotel use. Comfortable communal areas such as upper and lower lounge and pool to relax, air conditioned room, nice breakfast. Parking available, central location seconds from the beach. Fairly good value for money. It was ideal for our large family but looks like it would suit any kind of traveller.
Cheap and cheerful. We felt very welcome from the hosts. We were upgraded into a bigger room because they had space, that was a really nice touch and much appreciated! It was family home clean but not hotel room clean which we didn't mind.
The view over San Juan del Sur und the sea was great, there were plenty of places to chill and the bed was big and comfy. The kitchen was also well equipped. The staff was very kind and helpful and the included breakfast was a dream!
it was so bad and not what we expected from what we sew on the pictures that we said we are not going to stay , we left and figured out that booking gave our card details to the Hotel and they charged us (actually stole our money )
spectacular view from the room and the pool area. nice to have a kitchen at hand and very peaceful and quiet. we’re happy we chose to stay here rather than in the centre of San Juan del Sur
TreeCasa is an outstanding hotel! Customer service, facility, amenities, restaurant, and drinks were AMAZING! The rooms are spacious and true to the eco-friendly and environmental model.
Location was as advertised, right on the beach - however, motorcycles riding by all night was a real bummer. The rooms and shared areas were very clean, and pleasantly decorated.
The View was amazing! and the management team and there staff made sure that everything was absolute Great
i would Recommended this hotel to any body i had such a great time
Palermo was an excellent place to spend time with family, visit the San Juan del Sur Bay at night and have a restful night away from the noice and the party goers at night.
it was a quiet hostel. the owner was very friendly and helpful. I kept extending my stay :) I’ll be staying there again if I go back to San Juan del sur
