Eric the receptionist is a legend. They did my washing for cheap and we're very helpful overall. The hostel had a good vibe too!

Mountain when you like. We did a motorcycle tour. Renting one or a scooter is very affordable and the scenery is very nice. Very great food at the lakefront at Julia’s, almost opposite of ecolodge chiponge
The Italian restaurant in the village on the walking street, without traffic, was great too , especially the pizza

We arrived at the end of the busy season (April 1st) which was nice, but it was hot, water had dried up, and many of the "tours" were not worth the time or money.
The people were great! The food was awesome! And we loved exploring the island on our scooter.
Definitely recommend Cafe Campestre! The pasta was OUTSTANDING and the people were fantastic.
We didn't get a good-vibe from Chocolate Paradise - walked in - many people - nobody acknowledged our existence - so we left

We loved Moyogalpa. It's really colourful.
We loved Moyogalpa. It's really colourful. Some people told us not to stay at the port town but we found it to be awesome, it's cool to have a wonder round day and night and the people are so friendly.

This is a really lovely little town by the port.
This is a really lovely little town by the port. No fuss and in low season when we visited not too touristy. The volcano hike is really tough as it’s constant ascent without respite but very rewarding. Also renting scooters and exploring the island is easy and highly recommended.

Moyogalpa is a nice little town but know that most things you want to do are oh the southern part of the island. It’s a bus/4x4/scooter ride (45 minutes probably) but very quaint with everything you need.
Jean at El Picante restaurant is very amiable and pleasant. The food is good.
Going down to El Peru to kayak the Rio Istián was the highlight of the island.
Secluded location next to Moyogalpa. Spacious, clean rooms with great views to the Concepción volcano. José, the host, is extremely friendly and helpful. Not only he gave us plenty of tips on where to eat and what to do on the island, but also he helped us to arrange a guide for the volcano climb and gave us a good contact to rent a motorbike.
The communal kitchen is well equipped and clean. There are plenty of hammocks in the common areas where you can relax with views to the volcano. We would definitely stay again at El Peregrino!
We really enjoyed our time here because of the beautiful hotel and garden, the nice pool, and overall very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. There is lots of space to hang out and chill. We booked the 'luxury family room' without realising, it was really spacious and the airconditioning worked really well, and it was still not expensive. The staff is really friendly. The food is great (although a bit more pricey than elsewhere). Would have loved to have stayed longer! Be sure to book a massage!
The owners were welcoming and accommodating and helpful. The place had everything we needed and the kitchen was fully equipped and is only shared with one other room, which was unoccupied during our stay. The house is located right in the middle of a local neighbourhood just outside Moyogalpa so you get to experience local life away from the busy town, but only in walking distance of shops, restaurants and the port. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future if in the area.
If you want a peaceful sleep at night without the constant sound of dogs barking…this is your place. So quiet. The owners are there to help you. On site there are cows, horses, talking parrots and a beautiful (non barking dog)😁 It truly is a magical place…I’ve been to Moyogalpa 4 times now and this is by far my favourite. Thanks for having me…see you soon Hostal Nathaly..great job.
We had an amazing stay at Hotel Victoria! Karliza and Raynor really looked after us. Lovely breakfast and dinner! Our room was huge with great AC, TV with Netflix and super comfy beds. The photos don’t do the property justice, it is beautiful! The gardens are so well kept and tended to, beautiful views of the volcano and a really great pool. We had a really lovely stay, thank you!
Great stay in the upstairs room just above the letters if Ometepe House in the photo. Everything worked well - shower is cold water but not only do you get used to it, you need it. The property is a few minutes walk from the ferry port in Moyogalpa. Good luck with the extensions and swimming pool - if we return we will want to see it finished!
There is nothing i can think of that i didn't like about this hotel. Friendly, clean, comfortable...everything was great! And the cats and dogs and chickens living there was an added bonus for animal lovers.
They have complimentary coffee and tea and filtered water. It was like a mini resort at an affordable price and have dorm rooms as well.
The owners of the guesthouse are very kind, they helped me and my friend arrange activities on both days of our stay and we sat down for a meal with the whole family on one of our nights. Nice to relax in a hammock in the garden, location is good it's a 15-20 minute walk back from Moyogalpa which is safe even at night.
What a view! This hostel was super easy going while being really helpful with the scooter rental and giving great advice on how best to explore the island! Be conscious of the fact that most stuff is on the south side of the island but to be close to Moyogalpa and all it’s amenities, this one will be hard to beat!
Nice big room in a clean hotel with pool. Nice breakfast. Great staff. Various shared spaces to sit, enjoy views, play games. We rented a scooter, had an accident and the staff was very reasonable regarding the damages. The location is perfect just outside the “downtown” core. Street food options available nearby.
The property was a short walk from the ferry landing. When arriving late as I did this is very convenient. It is located on the main street lined with restaurants, shops, and rental places. The property itself rents scooters. The same person who owns the property owns Little Nathaly next door who rents scooters.
Super kind and friendly staff. There is an option to park your bike/atv in a locked area over night. Hostel offered same prices we found in town for rentals. Good kitchen facilities, and filtered drinking water. The room was basic but had strong AC. Only downside was the bathroom had a strong smell.
The staff was very friendly. The hostel has a nice common area with hammocks to relax in. They provided free drinking water. They rent out good bicycles for a good price. The location is good, pretty much in the center of Moyogalpa, close to restaurants and a big supermarket.
Ometepe house is a five minute walk from the ferry and is close to restaurants and services. Staff was friendly and helpful!! It was quiet and situated in a safe area. They were making improvements to the facilities while I was there which make it nicer.
It was so nice and fresh here! The staff was so kind. This was our last stop on our trip to Nicaragua and we really needed a comfortable clean place to decompress, and hotel Victoria provided just that. Plus the staff is the best as they come. Love it!
Quiet place few minutes from Moyogalpa, everything clean, people superfriendly and helpful and really patient with my "Spanish". Pool, good food, lovely dogs, cats, birds... hamakas. For this price can't be better I think.
