The bed was huge and comfy. The a/c worked well but the controller stuck on the was not so good. There were plenty of outlets but they didn’t hold things plugged into them well.

Very helpful, kind, friendly family. A pleasure to stay with them. Room was clean, freshly painted, comfortable bed, with fan and bathroom, lovely terrace with volcano view. All meals on their breakfast menu were delicious and cheap.
I broke my arm and stayed there for 3 weeks. The family did all they could to help me. It was a short walk to town with restaurants and supermarket. They take pride in their place which is their home.Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

The best view of the volcano for sunset! It's always in clouds in the morning so it's the nicest view considering the sun is shining on it in the evenings. Advisable to have scooter to move around because there is nothing close. We took a tuktuk but you have to call one every time you want to go somewhere. Owner is helpful and will call you one if you need. Kitchen good enough for cooking. Nice place to do yoga with a view!

My bank applies unreasonable charges to ATM withdrawals so I specifically choose hostels that accept card payments. Contrary to all HTV online profiles (including this one), they would only take cash and I really didn't want to spend my limited time in Ometepe writing to Booking to get a refund on account of false advertising. However, that means that I also have to review this hostel as though I paid 12 and not 9 USD per night because that is how much I ended up spending. For that money, I could've gotten a place with a pool, bar and other amenities, none of which are available at HTV. Still, on its own merit, the hostel was nice, clean, comfortable, with decent kitchen, good wi-fi (though, sadly, not reaching the garden that would be perfect for remote work), and unlimited filtered water supply. The dorms are excessively hot but otherwise OK.
