Naankuse Lodge, hotel in Windhoek

Naankuse Lodge features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Windhoek. Featuring room service, this property also provides guests with a barbecue.

We stayed at Naankuse over my husband's birthday booking a walking safari and a 'behind the scenes' tour. The staff were delightful and warm. They made us feel really special - baking a cake and coming out of the kitchen to singing happy birthday in wonderful, Namibian-style harmony. Thank you! Walking with our guide in the late afternoon was as absolute delight. Gebhard enabled us to see White Rhino standing in the trees as the sun was getting low - an unforgettable experience. I think it's worth going out on foot and also seeing how the Naankuse charity is run and why it is needed to appreciate and understand what you see.

Windhoek is the most beautiful , clean city with many lovely places to give you a taste and pleasant stay in Namibia. However, one bad experience such at poor customer service at Hilton Hotel can be a turn off for the rest of your stay. In fact you will forced to cut change for hotels if you came on a business trip and you could easily cut your holiday short. There are many more hotels/places with good offer/value for money, better customer services and comfort stay. In my option, definitely not Hilton hotel. I booked out the next day and enjoyed the rest of my business trip in a cheapest hotel, good customer care in short small but might.

Windhoek has a long colonial history, with interesting museums, galleries and landmarks. The natural history museum was my favourite. The landmark German Lutheran Church, in the centre of town, is a wonderful place to visit. It has too many restaurants to mention, but Joe's Beerhouse is the best. The variety of meats on offer, the atmosphere, the decor, absolutely everything is just so incredibly awesome! A MUST for any visitor to Windhoek. One can easily get a cab, similar to Uber, called Lefa, which is extremely quick to respond and take you wherever you need to go. Next time I would avoid being coaxed into taking a local taxi off the street, as the operators are mostly unreliable drivers and one can end up in dangerous areas such as the very poor locations.

Windhoek is a wonderful city, often regarded as one of the cleanest cities in Africa. The road infrastructure is user-friendly, and traffic is light, except during rush hours in the morning and afternoon. Grove Mall provides many opportunities for great meals. We visited Rocco Mammas and Joe's Beer House, where the menus offer cost-effective and delicious options. If you prefer not to venture out, you can easily order traditional or international cuisine through a dial-a-meal app, which delivers freshly prepared meals to your doorstep. In addition to shopping and entertainment, the mall offers a range of fitness activities. There is a Virgin Active gym just a stone's throw away, as well as excellent and safe running and cycling routes.

The apartment was perfect. Great location, immaculately clean and it had absolutely everything you would wish for; like a very well equipped kitchen, big fridge, wash machine and an iron. The bed was so comfortable, with memory foam mattress and big curtains that blocked light out for a restful sleep. But what really make the place are the wonderful hosts that went out of their way to make us feel at home. If we can get a spot there next time( they are very booked for obvious reasons) we will always stay there when we visit Windhoek.

Breakfast on the terrace was awesome and Beate was a great host. She even went to the the trouble of finding us a Namibian plug adapter as we only had S. African adapters with us and has a long drive to Etosha, so we didn't want to spend half the day tracking down an electronics store in Windhoek. Also, the property is well located, very secure and the staff were all very friendly. I would highly recommend for any length of stay in Windhoek (and we will be staying again in 3 weeks !!).

It was the second time staying at this hotel, after 8 years from the first time. Everything was great for spending a week for work in Windhoek. The location is as central as it gets, the room very spacious with a big desk and good internet allowing you to work effectively. The room was very clean. Three restaurants inside the building as well as good room service for the times you want to have a quick lunch / dinner without leaving the hotel.

Located in the quiet city area, but only about few min car ride from the center and about 45 min from the airport. It has 2 restaurants of its own, a very nice rooftop and 2 other very good restaurants in the premises. The other 2 restaurants are within few steps, so very convenient for a stay. Breakfast was included and plentiful. We stayed before and after safari and could not think of a better place in Windhoek.

The owner / manager are very firendly and approachable, location is perfect, diagonnally across from the Hilton hotel and a short stroll down Independeance to the Gustav Voight shopping centre, banks, ATM, hotels and coffee shops. The apartment is furnished with everything for a short or long stay, cooking utensils, dinnerware etc.

Note that the flat is located high on a hillside so you need a car or taxi or be in good physical condition if you want to walk to shops, restaurants.
