We had an absolutely fabulous 4 days staying at this lovely hotel. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Jovana in particular made our stay a memorable one. The breakfast was really tasty and the view from the restaurant is spectacular. The location is near the quieter end of town which was perfect for our group. We would all definitely stay here again. Thank you so much to you all!

The town of Perast over the past several years has become like a hotel, analogous to Sveti Stefan - looking beautiful and functioning great for tourists. Perast is very small, one can walk all along it within twenty minutes, and that explains, but does not justify the absence of any pharmacy in the town, which is my only complaint.

Picturesque old town with a nice beach front walk.
Picturesque old town with a nice beach front walk. All restaurants are expensive tourist traps with expensive lousy food. Parking is a nightmare. It is worth a 30 minute visit to walk along the beach front (make sure you are not hungry)

We had 3 weeks in Montenegro and spent the last 3 nights in Perast. We could have had another 2-3 days here to be fair. It is much calmer than Kotor and even though it is much smaller we enjoyed Perast better as a city. It is not so crowded and we enjoyed walking from Perast to Risan where we had lunch and then on the way back we stopped for a swim. We had lunch at an amazing oyster farm (the first one on your right as you walk back from Risan - search for "Mussles and Oysters farm with Restaurant" on Google). They were fully booked but still gave us a table and we had one of the best lunches!
We also spent a day swimming, there are several small "concrete piers" that you can swim from, good for both adults and children, but remember to have shoes to swim with, lots of mussels and rocks at some spots.
I also have to recommend a restaurant called “Underwater wine cellar Kraken Kotor”. A small independent restaurant, floating just outside of Perast on the way towards Kotor. We had a swim straight “of” the restaurant, good food and wine. It is an experience you will never forget!
We never went to Our lady of the rocks, it just seemed to be too crowded (unless you manage to get with the first taxi/tour in the morning). We did walk up in the church tower in the centre.

Perast was lovely, although with a young family a day trip would have been long enough. There is a cafe which serves the best pizza I’ve ever eaten - Bocolibre I think it was called. If only there were more relaxed cafe type places to eat as all the restaurants serve the same dishes. It is truly pretty but lacks enough beach space for the amount of visitors. We used a spot on the road to enjoy swimming which was fine but not restful or much fun for young children.
I have stayed at Hotel Admiral several times over the years. It is my favorite hotel in Perast. Our top floor rooms had excellent views of the fjord and it felt as though we were in Norway, only warmer. Hotel Admiral receives a pleasant breeze as it sits on the waterfront, and the over water restaurant prepares delicious, well priced meals. I hope to return again. The owner, Milena, helped us with our printouts for onward travel and was flexible with our schedule. This family run hotel is friendly and inviting.
Beautiful villa and stunning views
Ana was friendly and helpful
The penthouse and double room were both lovely and have everything you need. The pool area is peaceful and the views over the water and mountains I could have stared at all day.
Highly recommend staying here and wish we could have stayed longer, we were so relaxed!
There are lots of steps, but we knew this before booking and Montenegro in general has lots of steps, so this is to be expected.
What a tremendous Hotel with a great location and wonderful facilities with a great staff! The breakfast offerings were delicious and with plenty of offerings available! Dining right on the bay as the sun sets is a must! The hotel property is historic and located right on the Bay of Kotor and centrally located to all the must see sights. A great place to call 'home base' while sightseeing, as well as, relax in this charming and historic town.
This was the second time we stayed in Conto. The rooms are really comfortable and clean (!!!), but this time we had room with one small window that was on the same level with somebody's garden, so in the morning we were looking at this man watering his vegetables. We are quite disappointed with this. The food is delicious... absolutely delicious. Restaurant Conto is one of the best in Montenegro.
If you are looking for a small but luxury boutique hotel in the area: this is your place! Perast is the most beautiful town in the area, Monte Bay Retreat is a jewel and the owner as well as the staff of the hotel are providing great hospitality. You really feel like a family guest, not just a "paying number". We stayed 8 night and had a very enjoyable and relaxing time the there.
Warmly welcomed by Vesna-Sensational views of the bay-with both islands including Lady of the Rocks being visible. A short stroll down the steps had us at the marina where Vesna had recommended a boat trip for us to the Lady on the Rocks. Restaurants and shops nearby. A lovely terrace to sit and have a drink. A wonderful stay would recommend and return.
Room is clean and nice. Nice furniture. Unfortunately, AC is very loud. No water for drinking is left for guests after first day. There is no decent beach nearby, so you have to pay taxi and beach bad, which altogether makes stay here very expensive. Perast is boring for more thank two days since there are no beaches and nothing to do.
One of the best locations in the whole of Montenegro one could ask for!
The hotel is located just waking distance from the gates to Perast.
Breakfast was included and the area was a very picturesque! (Early morning look out for Dolphins, you might just get lucky)
Very friendly owners, their restaurant is also well managed!
Simply an incredible hotel! Lovely staff willing to share incredible local history (in depth and with great enthusiasm). Impeccable room with high quality construction finishes. Generous breakfast that you can eat by the water in the most stunning setting. Favorite place we stayed at in Montenegro.
If you like staying in an apt rather an hotel in the beautiful village of Perast, this is definitely the place to be: very comfortable (beds and sheets were the best), well decorated, bright, nice terrace with the view on the sea, ideal walking distance from the parking, welcoming hosts, etc
A beautifully restored stone house near the waterfront. The owners are lovely and the kitchen had everything needed for cooking simple meals. The apartment was clean, quiet, and location is great. It was cold when we were there and David kindly brought us a portable heater.
Apartment in downstairs is amaizing. House is all in stone and just a minute or two walking distance from center of Perast. Hosts were great and we hope that we are going to visit Perast again in near future.

Perast is beautiful town on the motor Bay and the hotel has a great location in Perast.
The Sea View room was big and spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is good and restaurant has a great location.
The check-in was super-simple and host met us and led us a few steps up to the apartment. Every question we had was answered quickly & fully. It was perfect, and right in the centre of Perast!
Very beautiful, stylish and clean apartment. Inside there is everything for a comfortable stay. The owner compiled a very interesting guide to Montenegro and was very attentive.
Really lovely apartment with the most amazing views. Really lovely part of Montenegro to visit. Lovely host too with loads of advice of places to visit.
