Beautiful scenery, sea views from the large porch, you can walk for 2 minutes to get lovely views of Dondra Lighthouse (Sri Lanka’s most southerly point) across the bay and it’s a short walk to Dondra Lighthouse and Dragon’s Head (where there is a lovely restaurant - Dragon’s Mouth). You can easily see local wildlife from the porch including monkeys and bee eaters.
The hosts were lovely, very accommodating they helped with wifi, organising breakfast and getting to the bus station. We booked two rooms thinking it was a family room but you actually got the entire house (one bedroom had air conditioning and the other a fan). The house was spotlessly clean and it was very homely.
Dondra seems to be less visited by tourists but is very pretty - some nice things to see (beaches, lighthouse, rockpools) and good bus links to Matara then on to Mirissa and Weligama etc.

We had a wonderful stay with Summi and Mal. The house is very large and very beautiful. The room is very pleasant and above all there is a magnificent terrace where we had breakfasts and dinners. The food prepared by Mal is very good and very plentiful. We were welcomed by a very warm family and it was very pleasant to chat in the evening with Sara, Chathmi and Mal. In short, you understand, we highly recommend this address. I forgot to say that the family rented us a scooter during our stay for an extremely reasonable price. We were able to explore the entire region. Early in the morning we went swimming with the turtles. It's a wonderful memory. In short, you can go there without hesitation.
