    Good luck with English.

Good luck with English. But other than that it's easily accesible with the ferry from Kagoshima. There are two buses: a tourist sigh seeing one and a local bus. Both are easy to access. The sights are great and there are a bunch of places to have a hot bath with the volcanic water. Seems like they don't mind tattoos much over there which is refreshing.
