It’s really ski-in/ski-out accommodation. I’ll highly recommend for digital nomad or who just wanna go snowboarding every single morning on onzawa Yuzawa snow resort and doing work at night!
The owner is nice, friendly and she can say basic English all you need for just snowboarding and get hot spring over there! I’ll definitely visit her again!

We absolutely loved this AirBnB! We are a family of 6 with 4 young children, and the house was perfect for us. Every bedroom was perfectly appointed from the beds to the lighting to the plentiful outlets. We were able to spread out and have space for everyone. The downstairs TV room was wonderful as it gave another living space separate from the main gathering room with fireplace. The kitchen was amazing and had everything we could need. The location was perfect- close to everything! We will always cherish our time spent there!

Such a pleasant experience, the family that runs this place offers breakfast daily and dinner for extra. It was totally worth the money. The meals were made me feel so good after eating them. The room itself had a private bathroom and nice details

Nozawa Onsen was readily accessible by fast train and a bus.
The Village had good amenities including a variety of eating venues.
A free shuttle bus went around the town and to the ski fields every 15 minutes. The ease between getting between the Village, ski fields and accommodation was exceptional. There was even a travellator for going up to the snow and back to the town. The snowfall was excellent particularly as our visit was late in the season in mid March.

Amazing ski resort with great snow and very friendly personnel. Everything worked nicely and the small town center is lovely.
Streets can get narrow so make sure you have parking in advance if going by car. Also check distance from ski lifts.

Beautiful, clean inn with wonderful hosts.
Beautiful, clean inn with wonderful hosts. Great common premises, especially the kitchen, which is great for breakfast (you can buy coffee pods at cost from the host). The futons were very comfortable. We hope to return!
Recommendation for future guests: try to make reservations for restaurants for your entire stay once you arrive (and the inn staff can help) to avoid lining up in cold weather.

Stick to businesses owned and operated by local Japanese.
Stick to businesses owned and operated by local Japanese. Those owned by foreigners are often over-priced with inferior service....sure you might get to speak English, but stay home if that's important...;)

Amazing and cute little village!
Amazing and cute little village! Ski hill is great too (needs a bit more English signage). Be sure to book any of the nicer/better restaurants way in advance! These book out quickly (Aussies book these places out!)

An amazing and authentic Japanese experience.
An amazing and authentic Japanese experience. The rooms were brilliant and the Onsen was next level luxury. Made the whole ski experience a pleasure being just a short stroll from the Yu road travellator access. Highly recommend it
Our room was amazing - super spacious, beautiful views, authentic Japanese feel with futons and tatami mats and the temperature was perfect.
The location was also impeccable - 2 minute walk to the ski resort and ~5 minute walk to many cafes/restaurants/onsens etc.
Nice and spacious communal area with comfortable couches and lovely views.
The Japanese hosts were very friendly and helpful.
There were no regular private showers but instead a public bath on site - lovely after a cold day skiing.
It was also very quiet.
The hosts are beautiful and friendly, spoke great English and were very helpful. The Japanese breakfast was tasty, healthy and different each morning.
There is a public onsen very close that is really hot but perfect after a day skiing.
Very close to the local bus to the slopes or a 15 minute walk uphill. A 5 minute walk to the main bus stop and information Centre. 10 minute walk into town.
Nozawa Onsen is a wonderful and Togoro a perfect place to stay.
The Host Saiko was so wonderfully charming, and kind and accommodating. The lodging was authentic, traditional and relaxed. Very convenient location- couldn't be improved- right by an onsen and the ski travelator in the middle of Nozawa Onsen. Delicious breakfast and dinner. Wonderful staff, Diana also did everything to ensure a smooth journey with any issues we had easily sorted. Heater in the rooms very useful as rooms can get quite cold in the Winter.
Our favorite hotel in Nozawa, stayed there 3 times already. It's a little further from the center, but staff is really helpful and ready to give you a lift, plus there's a ski shuttle stop just outside of the hotel. Comfortable western style rooms with private bathroom, good value for the price compared to the other places in the area. Tasty hot breakfast is included in the price as well. Will definitely come again!
The staff, location, and cleanliness of Marushige was excellent! Everything was very organized and the shared bathrooms were not an issue as they were very clean and easily reserved. The feel is quite traditional Japanese with floor mats for beds and slippers provided for indoor use, but provided that's not a dealbreaker I thought it was a wonderful place to stay
Staying at the homestay was a delightful experience. The accommodation was comfortable, and the couple and grandma were incredibly attentive, catering to our every need. Their hearty meals truly captured the essence of authentic Japanese cuisine, adding an extra layer of warmth to our stay. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a genuine Japanese experience.
I went with friends for a ski weekend in Nozawa Onsen and we wanted a decent lodge at an affordable price. Lodge Matsuya exceeded our expectations. It's a simple place, but well maintained and comfortable. The proprietors were very nice and even reimbursed charges through the Booking.com site for one person who had to cancel at the last minute
Great location! True ski in ski out.
Staff were amazing and friendly, and the restaurant was top star, included breakfast blew our expectations out the water!
Room was spacious and comfortable
Handy complimentary shuttle down the hill if needed
Dont understand how booking.com only rate it a 2star hotel! Rating definately needs upping 👍👍
Fantastic location balanced nicely with a short uphill walk to the gondola and a short downhill walk to the main part of the town. Room was larger than I expected for Japanese mountain hotel. Large drying room for both gear and clothes with a separate street side entrance. Easy to use large parking lot next to the Hotel.
The hotel is located quite close to both bus terminal (transfer between Liyama station and Nozawa Onsen) and ski resort. Staffs there were extremely nice and helpful in providing information relating to ski gear rentals and restaurants selections. The hotel also sells discounted lift tickets
fun to stay on the slopes so great with kids since can finish at hotel. it’s clean. rooms are small, basic & ok for sleeping & changing. bit of a walk to town & you’ll have to walk back since there is no road access so keep in mind if you have wee tired kids & weather is bad
excellent location! short walk to the ski lifts and to town center. Public Onsen across the street. breakfast each morning was great! Staff was extremely polite and very helpful. I come to Nozawa Onsen fairly often and for this price I have to say this was my favorite stay.
Near bus station and town
(So a bit walk up to gondola and slope )
Stay in 2 room type Japanese and western both have quiet environments (maybe depending on neighbor ) large room , onsen in the hotel is very convenient. 💖💖 Would stay there again if i’m in Nozawa
Bed and pillow is super comfy. Location is right in the heart of nozawa onsen. Bar and Cafe downstairs were both great. We could choose breakfast from any of the cafe menu at the cafe downstairs. (+ one free drink). Great value and tasted great!
-Very friendly and helpful staff (booked restaurant for us, drove us to the ski rental shop on the first day, etc.)
- new hotel and very clean
- good living room with nice view
- good value for money in Japan
- near Kongo food court
The breakfast was great - hot and ample and the location of the hotel perfect, just beside the Nagasaki gondola base station. The men's bathroom was generally empty so easy to enjoy the bathing experience.
The Elizabeth team were wonderful, helping in every way possible- from booking dinners to providing local recommendations. The location is brilliant to get to the slopes.
