A super cool hostel, with private rooms, cool communal areas and a bar (reportedly very good food). Both hosts speak excellent English and were very helpful in assisting us to book accommodation further along the Shikoku 88 Temple trail. Our room looked new, was clean, comfortable and stylish.

This property is a scam on Booking Dot Com. During our 31 days of travel in Japan, we have never encountered such a filthy place. We literally ran away in disbelief from this place within a few minutes of walking in there. In Japan, even the public toilets in busy city stations are cleaner than this accommodation. As per the booking, we were offered an entire 150-year-old farmhouse with tatami mats, a fireplace and, most importantly, a private bathroom. As we drove up the drive, the whole courtyard was covered with junk, we were shown the room with three beds with filthy sheets. We did not step into the room. The toilet was outside and disgusting, with wet floors. We were not brave enough to check the bathroom. We were in shock and drove out to Kamiyama town, and a couple of locals helped us to call another hotel and booked a room for the night. The people in Japan are so helpful we are not sure how this gentleman got away with false advertisement and unhygienic property.
