Kure is a great place for travelers who have an interest in Naval history, owing to Kure's long history as a naval port and the birthplace of famous ships like the battleship Yamato and aircraft carrier Akagi. The following restaurants were recommended to me so I also recommend them to future travelers! - Tone-honten (Curry Rice) - Dosanko Kure Hondori (Ramen) - Morisu (Ramen) - Jiyuken (Omurice) There is a rental bicycle service offered by JR by the station for 500円 where the bikes can be rented starting from 0800hrs and returned by 2000hrs.

The most important thing for me was the convenience to the KURE JR station. And the availability of various eatery in the vicinity. The room was comfortable. THE ONLY THING WAS.....the bed had only ONE pillow..... and not very puffy....sort of FLAT. Next time I will ask for couple more pillows so that my head is slightly higher than one flat pillow. Other wise all features great. Thank you.
