There were many things we loved about Genji Hotel. It's location Kamo River is beautiful. you can see hawks, cormorants, crows etc and its so quiet and peaceful there. The deign of the hotel is subtle but gorgous. the staff is amazing too. One of the best hotels I have been able to stay at in many years!

Great facilities including a washing machine and small kitchen. Perfect for a long stay type of vacation. Larger than average so plenty of space for suitcases etc. Location is in a more quiet area, meaning less restaurants and shops (can be seen as positive or negative). Really great value and stay overall!

Hotel Yuraku was the highlight of our trip! The in-room onsen was amazing and we took advantage of it multiple times a day. We also got the breakfast daily and it was delicious each time. The staff were very kind and helpful with our needs. The closest train station is about 19 min walk so keep that in mind when considering location. However, it is walking distance to Todaji temple and about 15 min walk to Sannezaka street. The area was peaceful and beautiful during cherry blossom season so worth the farther train station in my opinion.

Excellent location, very clean and the size of the room is much bigger than average in Japan. The kitchen was well equipped and the personnel always available upon request. I strongly recommend this place and do not hesitate to visit the small Nigiri food place opposite to Lawsons konbini just around the corner.

The apartment is beautiful, decorated to a really high spec, absolutely loved the tatami room and spent 3 very comfortable nights on a futon mattress. The bathing facilities were great. The location was also wonderful, with temples and the Gion are an easy walk away. We were met, on arrival, by a very friendly and helpful man.
