Spacious (for Japanese standards) and nice rooms.
Very close to Mt. Fuji railway station.
Most rooms have view to Mt. Fuji.
There is a nice rooftop terrace where you can have coffee looking at the mountain or amusement park on the other side.
Staff was friendly and helpful, we arrived early and left our luggage with them and arrived later to a ready room with luggage inside.
There is also a small kitchen that everyone can use.
There is no breakfast, but we had some recommendations of places in the neighbourhood.

Nice Hotel, next to Fuji Q Theme park, the main reason for going.
Express Bus station very close, so getting there and leaving very easy.
He otel has shuttle bus to a few locations, so can use that if you come by train.
Great views of Mt Fuji.
Only 1 full day there and it happened to be very wet. (Obviously not hotel's fault)

Our room was a Mt Fuji view room and we were lucky enough to wake up to a spectacular view of the mountain (only stayed one night) so feel very blessed couldn’t stop looking. The room was very comfortable and spacious.

When sunny, the town is very full of tourists. The train/bus station is very small for the amazing volume of vehicles and people that go through. So be prepared for crowded chaos at the station. Get the sightseeing bus pamphlet - this is a local town bus, the pamphlet shows you the attractions- it was handy. Popular attraction ropeway- great - but not remotely accessible- many many stairs and steep slopes. Good restaurant to the right of the exit of the ropeway.

We stayed for 3 nights - perfect for walking to sights like the pagoda, and a full day at Fuji Q. It meant we could choose our day according to the weather when most rides were open. There was a good variety of restaurants in the area, we had an especially good meal in ‘Aio’. Even in low cloud and rain it was interesting to wander round and fall into cafes and we had the pleasure of suddenly seeing the majesty of Mt Fuji when the clouds cleared. Fujiyoshida was a relaxing change to the tourist bustle of Kyoto and Nara which we’d just been to.

I stayed near the Shimoyoshida Station at Asumi Onsen.
I stayed near the Shimoyoshida Station at Asumi Onsen. I am very glad that I did not stay in Kawaguchiko, which is swamped by huge numbers of tourists from all over the world, causing long lines in every store anywhere near the train station. I got Mt. Fuji views from everywhere but my stay was relaxed and amongst the local Japanese, except at the Chureito Pagoda. Mountains and hiking paths were nearby. On my last day, I went to Kawaguchiko Station to pick up a bus back to Tokyo. One look at the long lines and tourists clogging the streets made me certain that I made the right choice to stay away from all that.

Fujiyoshida is a tourist area.
Fujiyoshida is a tourist area. Within half an hour drive around are ropeways, scenic areas, hikes temples and various other activities like quad bike riding, zip line, safari, rides, outlet shopping, etc. You need to be there to know what is there. For example, Mishima Sky Bridge is not just a scenic area but filled with lots of fun activities. A good time to go is to be able to catch the sunset on the bridge against Mount Fuji. Magical.

Fujiyoshida has some great viewing points for Fuji San, the town itself is quiet but has some lovely places to eat. Even though it is so close to the biggest tourist attraction in Japan it doesn’t feel busy with tourists.

The town was very quiet when we arrived on Sunday morning, which was a most welcome change after being in Tokyo for a few days. It is easy to travel between the town and Fuji Q Highland with the train. The shops in the town are quaint and we enjoyed our time there very much. Everyone we encountered was very welcoming and friendly and helpful.
The villa is very spacious with a good view of Mt Fuji. Beds are comfy. There is a rooftop which oversees Fuji-Q Highland and Mt Fuji. We ordered breakfast (Yen1,300 per person) which was delivered to our Villa. Delivery time is between 7 to 9am. A lot of varieties for breakfast. Our first day breakfast was pumpkin soup, sandwich, jelly cup and orange juice and second day breakfast was soup, rice rolls, custard mousse and pineapple juice. Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly.
The host was super kind, she is a very nice person that can pick you up and drop you at the train station. It is a traditional Japanese house that is cozy, warm (I went during winter) and very important for me, it was so clean. Also, our room was quiet big and comfy and, the bathroom was very spacious with spare toilets (one for girls and one mixed). You a view of the Mount Fuji from the balcony, which is a plus!
We stayed in 5 different hotels during our stay in Japan. This was by far the largest. Clean, updated and a great view of Mt Fuji. The host (owner) was amazing. She held our luggage for us as we did an overnight on Mt Fuji and even gave us a ride to the bus station. A convenience store right next door and plenty of shops & restaurants close by. Also, walking distance to Fuji-Q Highland
The hotel is nice, the location has the view of Mt. Fuji, amazing views from the room. The room itself was huge and there is an onsen inside the hotel, which was great for relaxing after a day sightseeing. I didn’t try the food at the hotel, but they offered breakfast, lunch and dinner. I liked that the hotel was near a park, so had that nature vibe.
The breakfast was delicious, lots of options. Do not miss dinner at the hotel - it's a must! The onsen with the Fuji view were amazing. We loved walking around the Japanese garden. But, the views, the room, the onsen & the dinner were flawless! We came in the dead of winter and there's nothing cosier sitting in the onsen looking at Mt. Fuji.
The staff were very helpful. Our room was clean and quiet. Location was great being so close to Fujisan Station where we could catch local buses and trains to places of interest nearby very easily. An added bonus was being able to purchase tickets to FujiQ Highland at the hotel which allowed early entry into the park.
This property is located in the quiet neighborhood. You can see Mt Fuji on every street and corner. It is nice to walk around the area. It is only 15 min walk to the famous Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine. The owner is also very nice and friendly. I enjoyed the time staying at this hotel.
The hostel has a stylish and minimalist design, very mindful of details. We loved that they provide free coffee, tea, and snacks in the common spaces. The location is also perfect, on the main street of Fujiyoshida and very close to the popular Mt Fuji photo spot.
The hotel is new, fresh, modern and efficient. The rooms aren't very big but sufficient. We had a car which I believe is a better way to travel in the area but the train station is within walking distance. The Onsen was clean and well equipped.
Great location near Mt Fuji station, and quick walk to restaurants and cafes in Shimoyoshida. Nice rooftop deck with views of Fuji, also viewable from the room. Spacious and clean. Convenient extras like snacks and drinks available in the lobby.
No doubt the most beautiful hotel/ryokan that we visited in Japan, the place is incredible beauty and traditional, it looks even better than in the photos. Highly recommended if you are planning to visit Mt. Fuji
Highland Resort Hotel and Spa in Fuji: Exceptional luxury amidst Mount Fuji's beauty. Spacious rooms, stunning views, and impeccable service make it a top choice for a rejuvenating getaway.
Nice onsen, and good location close to FujiQ and its train station. Great for exploring the area, and have a relaxing stay. Rooms were big for Japanese hotel standards.
Spacious and clean room with very large bed, and Netflix which is a nice addition. The hotel has access to a roof terrace where (on a clear day) you can see mont. Fuji.
