Coming from an artist, I can say this is a hotel where things are made well out of real materials, and in an honest way. The room we stayed was something like Japanese and Victorian mixed, and we loved it. It is not new, but everything was well done, and the small garden was really quite spectacular. A very good example of a Japanese garden.

The little things that I always forget on my long trips were great. The breakfast was in the restaurant next door and had a variety of Japanese dishes I wasn't expecting.
