Chatan is an ideal location for people visiting family members in the military. It's very close to most of the bases, and has a wide selection of hotels. There is public transportation, but It's very walkable (in most areas). We felt very safe walking around. The America Village there has lots of shops, restaurants and bars. The bathroom was large as well and had a big tub. The hotel provided clean towels and bottled water every morning for no extra charge and you could leave towels by the door to be exchanged without being disturbed. The hotel is also within walking distance of a beach, the sea wall, and many great restaurants.

This is an excellent service in the place, where the temperature is constantly over 30 Celsius degrees, and the humidity is high, like it is in Okinawa during summer months.
