Affordable, 'no frills' business hotel near the train station, about 5 mins walk - suited our needs for an early morning train departure. Room was small, and surprisingly quiet even though on a busy road. The included breakfast was a mix of Japanese and western style buffet options and intended to be eaten quickly and then be on your way.

Nice city to visit for a few days. I am actually impressed with the city and would like to come back again to explore more. The attractions it has do attract many tourists coming to visit this city. I strongly recommend this city to visit.

It is a relaxed city.
It is a relaxed city. We loved Senshu koen with it's gardens, ponds and shrines. There is great shopping and cafes around the station area and a cheap tourist loop bus covers most of the city starting from in front of the station. Tourist information at the station was extremely helpful. We took a trip to Sentai Hoshika just outside of the city. It was a little tricky to get to by bus but worth the visit for serenity and beauty. We met some very pleasant people and had some wonderful meals at Osteria restaurant at the Richmond Hotel and Icinotori Bataten

We enjoyed what we saw, the weather was perfect and Senshu Park was beautiful and about 5 minutes walk. We would have liked to go to Aoyagi Samurai house but for the time we had available it was a bridge to far.

Staff at JR Tourist information : amazing and helpful.
Staff at JR Tourist information : amazing and helpful. Recommend a quick trip to Namahage Museum and show and a visit to the living village next door. only need an hour or so. need to take jr to namahage and book shuttle taxi online by 9pm night before...search namahage shuttle. a bit expensive 1000 yen each way plus about 1200 yen for museum and show entry. helps to understand regional culture.also a great day walking around nyuto onsen village.take jr to tazawako, then shuttle no 1 bay to nyuto onsen. can walk between onsen. We also made the effort to arrange the shuttle from alpa komakusa to the famous tsurunoya onsen but was very disappointed and felt it was a waste of time : just stay at nyuto longer is better. ganibi, taenoyu were best.

We were travelling North up Honshu in Spring and caught the best Sakura in Akita. We also fluked a Sakura festival, which was great. We only had one day in the city and would have preferred an extra couple for a better look around.

We went to visit Seitai Hoshikai (Church of Lady Akita) in Yuzawa by bus. The map and information given by the Tourist Information staff at the station was very informative and clear, so we don't have any difficulties at all. There are loop bus also around the city, it is very convenient travelling in Akita city.
- Hosts were very friendly, we wished we could’ve spent more time with them. Same as other reviews have said, it feels like staying with family.
- Most. Comfortable. Futon. Ever. Oh my goodness, I slept wonderfully. Bed was comfortable too.
- Spacious area to relax with a table and TV. We enjoyed chatting and watching some TV before bed here.
- We had our own sink/toilet area to share amongst ourselves connected to the one bed area.
- Very cute dog named San :)
Very helpful staff who couldn't understand me (I can't speak Japanese) but accompanied me to the laundry to demonstrate that I needed to advise a washing machine & dryer number before I could get the key. Very patient receptionist! Only need to pay for the dryer so great for anyone needing to do some laundry.
Handy location, loved the evening noodles, terrific facilities with great public baths, spacious room. Great stay!
Prefect, even the location is little bit far away, but it is easy to assess AEON by a 5 minute walk, also a 15 minute walk to TOYZRUS and stadium.
The interior is prefect, large living room and bedroom, very suitable for 2 guests to accommodate.
The owner of the property is very nice too, he recommended to join the festival to see the Akita Lantern Festival
Amazing host! Cozy house in a friendly neighborhood. Near a train station, convenient stores and some restaurants. The house is really nice, we slept on japanes futons in a traditional Japanese room, which was really pretty! We could use all the rooms on the ground floor, including TV, couch and kitchen, which was nice!
This hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good with a variety of food to choose from.
The hotel offers free parking but it's always full however you can park right next to the hotel at the paid parking lot.
Location was excellent , close to train station, coming down from escalator. Breakfast was excellent, variety of Western and Japanese food. The town had a Food and Entertainment Festival which I enjoyed.
The room was excellent for what we paid for it. It was spacious, comfortable, and the hotel staff were incredibly friendly. I would happily stay at this hotel again next time I am in Akita.
Location is walk-distance from train station and other sightseeing places. Super convenient with a CVS downstairs. Small room with decently equipped furnitures and facilities. Recommend.
