A great place to stop at for a few days if you're travelling round Abruzzo. The train ride from Rome was very easy, and we were able to visit Lago di Scanno and Scanno itself by bus. Sulmona itself has a fantastic historic town centre with lots of little streets to explore. We enjoyed some great food and the most memorable ice creams ... And of course, lots of confetti Pellini! We hope to come back again next year!

Very positive.
Very positive. Surprisingly large, pleasant old section of city with down-to-earth charm. Hardly any tourists - too bad because Sulmona has an excellent, first rate tourist office. Spectacular, snow-capped mountains. In the heart of little-visited Abruzzo where amazing medieval castles abound. Has a must-go to restaurant called Clemente. People friendly and welcoming. We went for family research and stayed for the pleasure of the town & region. Just be sure you don’t stay at the bed & breakfast place called Villa Del Poeta! :)

Sulmona is a smallish town with a medieval center.
Sulmona is a smallish town with a medieval center. It is a fantastic base from which to take day trips to any of 3 national parks, the Adriatic Sea, and museums galore. If you’re interested in getting off the beaten path but maintaining high-end comforts, Sulmona is ideal. Bonus: there are at least 2 restaurants in town that have earned Michelin nods and stars (Gino’s and Clemente).

Nice quaint Italian city on route through Abruzzi.
Nice quaint Italian city on route through Abruzzi. Piazza with aqueduct and views nice. Market day was fun. Mountain views with a gelato nice and can’t forget some sweet confetti. A few hours is enough on a drive through stop.
Stella CasaBono is the perfect place to stay in Sulmona. The location is ideal, on a quiet street yet, near all the area's attractions. The room we had was larger than expected with all the comforts of home. Roberto and Giuseppe were the BEST hosts, always willing to help at any time, day or night. We felt at home from the first moment we met Roberto as he greeted us outside and offered cappuccino before we even got our luggage in! Stella CasaBono is THE place to stay in Sulmona and if we go back, this is where we will stay.
So much. This is a sweet little B&B right in the heart of the historical centre of Sulmona.
It's just a short stroll to shops, restaurants, bars, the huge market every Wednesday and Saturday (which has everything you could possibly want), and all the happenings of the town.
Milena is a wonderful host who speaks excellent English.
I'm sure you'll love staying here as much as I do.
I'd like to say thank you to Milena for the great times I've had here! I'll definitely be back!
Spacious and clean. Anna and her family were most helpful. this was a lovely place to spend a couple of nights in Sulmona which was such a surprise of a town. The property is well-equipped and a sweet Italian style breakfast is provided. we also appreciated the washing machine so we could get some clothes clean. Comfy bed with lots of space. We walked about 15 minutes into the main square and loved watching everyone making the evening ‘passeggiata’.
The apartment is in a lovely location and overlooking the park. It is well equipped and done in a modern style, which is nice. Sulmona is a beautiful historic town that is quiet but not too quiet. We are definitely going back again. Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful.
Lovely little Grancia near the Porta Napoli, full of character and maintained traditional decor. I stayed in a room with a balcony looking out into the street, enjoying the sounds of Sulmona life. Breakfast was exceptional, prepared and served with care and attention to detail.
The location is perfect as it is a short stroll to the centre of Sulmona.
The supermarket is right next door, and the private parking is fantastic.
Overall, the apartment was spacious, and whilst the decor was not our taste, it was very comfortable. Ideal for a short stay.
The location is excellent - so central to everything you could want in central Sulmona. The apartment is lovely - spacious, bright and well equipped. The two double bedrooms are big and there is a lovely bathroom with shower. The kitchen is also a great size.
Wonderful and characterful apartment right in the middle of the old town but quiet. The owner is very friendly and the apartment is fully equipped. There are some breakfast items left in the kitchen. Sulmona is a wonderful city to visit.
People were so helpful, what to do in and around Sulmona, booking restaurants,
Location and parking were very easy if you followed the instructions the property gave rather than google maps.
The hotel interior is really stunning

All four of us ranked B&B Capograssi one of the very best places we have stayed when traveling. The location is handy to the center of Sulmona while being far enough away to be quiet. And Dante is a great host.
The breakfast was perfect. I rented a car for a week, not the entire month, so made going into Il Centro and catching buses and trains more difficult, but the proprietor was extremely helpful in that regard.
The apartment was very clean with everything you need. Tastefully furnished, conveniently located in the old part of Sulmona. Spacious and light. The host Luciano was wonderful. Definitely would recommend.
Great base to explore Sulmona. Rooms are modern and sparkling clean and breakfast is delicious. Oscar and his mom are excellent hosts. Wonderful restaurant recommendations. Thank you for your hospitality!
Amazing location! The place was very spacious and clean and breakfast was great. Staff went above and beyond to pick me up from the train station and allow early check in. Great experience!
