We had a good 1-night stopover at La Gustea Hotel on our way from Sicily to Milan. The hotel is very nice and clean and the hosts are such friendly and nice people, who gave us, and our dogs, a warm welcome upon arrival. The room is spacious, with a contemporary design and the bed was very comfortable. The view from the balcony towards the castle is beautiful. The room comes with a nice and big bathroom. Location is good, only a short walk to the historical village centre. The hotel offers good and safe parking.

Borgo del Grillo is meticulously renovated. The ground are very well maintained and green (even in mid summer). The pool is big (but not very warm- be aware that you're around 600m above sea level. The upside is that even in mid summer the place was rather cool (very thick walls etc). The place does not have aircon but we did not need it. Maurizio the host put quite some effort in the apartment to modernize it. The place was rather big and the beds comfy (especially in the master bedroom). The unit had 2 baths which was convenient with 2 kids. The borgo consists of around 10-15 units that are all privately owned and some of them are rented out. Maurizo owns a couple of them. When we stayed many of the owners where there (including Maurizio). That gave a vey good vibe (very inclusive and willing to help you out with tips etc). The location is a bit off the beaten track. But if you want to visit the Val d'Orcia (and you should since it is really beautiful) I would def recommend Borgo del Grillo. Do not go there if you expect nigh life etc. Montepulciano and Montalcino are within easy reach. We also went to Orvieto, highly recommended!!

Wonderful palace recently renewed, with great attention to detail both in the common areas and in the room. We’ve loved everything: the style, the atmosphere, the comfort, the silence, the breakfast, the suggestions for nearby activities. The staff was exceptional and we felt taken care of at every turn. The property was peaceful and beautiful. Even when the pool area was full, it was quiet and tranquil. Our cottage apartment was perfect and just secluded enough. Food was fantastic when we did eat on premise. Grounds were well kept with gorgeous fruit trees and paths and a hidden playground

This villa is so beautiful and its location is just outstanding. It sits on a hill slope and commands an amazing view for many miles in every direction. The private pool is wonderful and also located in front of the great view. Could not imagine a better place to stay in beautiful Toscana. Val d'Orcia and beautiful towns like Pienza, Montepuliciano and Cortona are within 30min to 45min drive. Highly recommended!
