Apartment was in a super great, central location within Pietrapetrosa. Lovely, lovely apartment, full kitchen, large bedrooms with comfy beds. Breezy apartment and great host! We happened to be there during the annual devotion of Saint Anthony celebrating the feast of mascio--lucky to be part of this celebration!!

Wonderfully updated and clean apartment in the heart of this incredible mountaintop village! As beautiful as but not as crowded as Castelmezzano. The host was very attentive and helpful with parking and accessing the apartment.

You have to see it to believe it. A visit to Pietrapertosa will confirm just what lengths the ancients would go to to protect themselves by building on the top of any place that would be incredibly difficult to attack. It is impossible to believe anyone would build in this forbidding an environment. Inspires vertigo!

The owner was extremely helpful when we arrived much later than anticipated. We were guided into the accommodation and a booking made for our dinner nearby. We loved the accommodation and its view from the terrace, both of which made the long climb up the mountain worthwhile! We felt very welcome and would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the area.

I would recommend to stay 2 days to enjoy the ferrata trips that are around and the Volo dell'Angelo. The surroundings of the town are splendid.
We stayed in an apartment and cooked for us basic meals as there are not many options for groceries. However there are a few restaurants around that looked great.
If you are coming by car make sure you park on the marked visitors parking spots.

Pietrapertosa is one of the MOST beautiful and interesting...
Pietrapertosa is one of the MOST beautiful and interesting cities in ITALY! We discovered it because my maternal Grandparents were born there in the late 1800's. The landscape is unlike anything you have ever seen before. Pietra means "rock" in Italian. There are huge jagged rocks everywhere with deep, verdant valleys surrounding. Getting there is a bit of a challenge. The road is all uphill with many turns. Not many speak English but a day trip there is a must if you visit ITALY!
Super excellent host - Adele and her family ensured our check-in experience was hassle-free, they were there in person to help us with the parking and helped to drive to the property with all our luggages. The house is right in the middle of Pietrapertosa, less than 10 minutes walk to all 3 hiking spots and restaurants in town. We had the whole house which was very clean and well kept, comfortable with 2 rooms (double room downstairs and twin room up a spiral staircase), living room, kitchen and shower room.
Cozy little apartment in Pietrapertosa's venerable arab quarter with its steep and narrow alleys. The location itself was very clean and well equipped with everything you need to know or have for a comfortable stay. No AC needed as it's quite cool automatically, thanks to the building's stone structure. Nice restaurants and an ATM around the corner. Parking is no problem, either, as there are a couple of options, which amazing host Sabrina will tell you about. We enjoyed our stay to the max!
Natalia was a great host and very patient with us to work through language barriers! She met us on arrival and helped with some issues we had purchasing the parking ticket. Pietrapertosa is an incredible town, the location of the apartment is it's biggest win. The apartment itself is well portrayed in the photos and may be considered basic or dated (don't expect an exceptional view over the valley) however this adds charm and authenticity to your stay.
It was clean and has a great view, which most places in Pietrapertosa do. After we came to grips that the owner lived far away and we realized all the restaurants would not be opening (!), the owner bent over backwards to try to find a place for dinner. It was to no avail and we ended up with a sandwich and a Mars bar for dinner. That was not the owner’s fault, he really did try!
A beautiful stone house in a very unique village perched on top of the Lucanian Dolomites. The property was newly renovated with all the amenities we needed, the view from the garden was superb. The host Ana Maria went out of her way to help us when we arrived in the pouring rain. Despite the weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Pietrapertosa.
We loved the attention to detail, the large space, great design and well appointed furnishings.
Andrea, our host was very attentive, available for any questions and very helpful with restaurant suggestions.
We also loved Pietrapertosa and would have loved to have stayed longer.
Pietrapertosa is a real hidden germ in the basilicata region. Super authentic. The apartment is almost brand new, very spacious and has a small terrace. It’s very quite and you can park the car in front of the door for a reduced fee. Large fridge. Comfy beds.
We stayed one night in La Petite Maison. It was located in a quiet street in charming Pietrapertosa. The apartment was clean and the owner was very helpful. Breakfast was in the bar on top of the village. We loved it! Thank you for the stay.

Newly renovated hotel in the heart of Pietrapertosa. Very luxury and well decorated with high-end stuff everywhere. Host is super nice and very caring and understanding. Free breakfast is awesome, too. We already miss this hotel!!
Modern, fully-furnished, two-room apartment, right in the middle of Pietrapertosa. Parking spot right in front and the host gave us a parking permit for cheap 24 hr parking. Everything perfect, and very good value!
Francesco and Rosanna went out of their way to ensure our comfort. The apartment was lovely with wonderful views over the valley. We loved Pietrapertosa!
