We were met at the ferry dock by Davide, who walked us to the house. It totally exceeded my expectations. It is a full house, with kitchen/dining table downstairs, with windows that open directly on one of the harbors. The kitchen is well-provisioned, which we used only for breakfasts. Up a circular staircase are two good-sized bedrooms, one with the same stunning view over the water, the other with a view down the coast. The bath is upstairs. Downstairs there is also a small courtyard with a sink for washing and plenty of clothesline. It is such a comfortable place, very quiet except for the lapping of the water in the harbor.
We were there in the off-season, and the town felt like our own. Few restaurants were open, but we had no trouble finding meals. The walks (one up to Casa Romana, the other out past the lighthouse) were lovely. I dream of returning, and I would absolutely stay here!

We on purpose booked the room with terrace and sea view and absolutely loved it! The room (which actually is like a small flat) deserves 11 out of 10 for its terrace (wow!), design, location, hosts, cleanliness and its overall character. Thank you very much, we haven't stopped thinking about returning!

I could have easily spent more time on/in Marettimo. The town is small, and you don't come there for "sites" but rather for the atmosphere, the relaxation of a fishing village, and the walks around the island. The walk up to Casa Romana (and a lovely little Byzantine church) is - somewhat oddly - paved with paving stones the whole way, a grand walk up the mountainside behind the village. We also walked around the island past the lighthouse, with a nice small pebbly beach for swimming along the way. Marettimo is a fantastic island for peace, tranquillity, good swimming and hiking. If you're looking for nightlife, lots of bars and crowds then probably best to head to a livelier place. The best walk we did was out to Punta Troia and the castle there. The bay just below the castle (scala maestro) is just divine and we could have easily spent all day there, however we hadn't brought our lunch so eventually had to head back! Don't make our same mistake! It's a good hour and 15 min walk from the centre to the top of the castle and the last part is a little tricky, however it's manageable and the views are absolutely breathtaking. The best meal we had was at the restaurant al Carrubo (at the top of the hill leading up from bar Tramontana). This lovely place is nestled in among the trees yet has wonderful sea views and the food is just as lovely as the scenery. We had mussels, pistachio-crusted tuna, lobster soup, to name just a few (we went back 3 nights in a row!) Very friendly service and a really good, family-run atmosphere. I have travelled a lot in Sicily and I would say this is some of the best Sicilian food I've had in a very long time. Not to be missed!

If you have strong feet (because the house has three levels...) and you can survive with a ceiling ventilator instead of air conditioner in summer days, then this is the ideal holiday house! The children loved it from the first sight because it looks like a ship. This house has a soul if its own and we enjoyed every evening on the terrace, admiring sunset and stars. Marettimo is a small and lovely village with wild beaches and wonderfull mountain trails. We'll definitely come here again!AncaRomania

The host Jessica is kind and helpful, she gave us good advice and helped arrange boat tours on the island, and was flexible when bad weather conditions prevented us from leaving the island when expected. Highly recommend this place!
