The staff were incredibly helpful and patient!!!! I cannot say enough good things about them. The hotel was gorgeous and the view was amazing! The rooms were clean and comfortable! Food was delicious and we are looking forward to going back again sooner than later!

Grace was a wonderful host. Il Viaio is a cute, charming, calm and peaceful spot. There is a wineyard nearby (5 min walk) which is nice as well.

The purpose our visit to Fiesole was to celebrate our friend's birthday whom we had not seen for years. We had never heard of Fiesole, but they were staying there for a 3 week holiday (from Canada) and so we joined them with zero expectations. Fiesole was absolutely lovely, and frankly two days was not enough. We ate very well at local restaurants and visited the lovely Franciscan monastery on top of the hill, which is well worth a look. An incredible museum with Chinese coins dating back to the 100AC (!) and an Egyptian mummified kitten amongst other extremely old antiquities! Was not expecting that LOL! View of Florence is spectacular from Fiesole, and to think you are in a small little quiet 'village' just 20 mins drive away.

We did not see much of Fiesole because our stay was short and we were focused on Florence but we would really like to have visited the Roman ruins of Fiesole. The part of town that we stayed in has a nice piazza with a restaurant, an ice-cream parlor and a really yummy food truck. It is really well connected to Florence (a cheap bus takes you to the city in 20 min. and it comes every 15 so it is really convenient). The restaurant has a gorgeous view of the whole valley with Florence in the middle. We also saw the post office and a grocery store around there. It is really a pleasant town with a lot to offer.Laurence - 10Scored 10

Quaint little town on the hill above Florence, easily accesable by bus from the centre of Florence. There are few restaurants and cafe's in the centre and also a historic centre with Roman ruins and a museum. We had 3 nights tehre, but could have easily stayd more, as the vibe of the small time is great and if you get bored you can easily go to Florence and back.

The perfect place to stay out of the hustle of the city and only a 20 odd minute bus trip away. Lots of great bars and restaurants. A well stocked small supermarket. Deliberately booked fiesole as didn't want the chaos of florence centre.However, there is a number 7 bus that goes back and forth 1.50 euro takes about 22 mins and very frequent.I believe would get a better class hotel in centre and yes same price or less .The walks are tiring around fiesole but views worth it. we were lucky sun was shining each day. some amazing sunsets about 7pm.Little cake shop towards bottom hill ALCEDO cheapest coffee to go and amazing cakes.Coop sells all need to make picnics as food is very costly

The gourmet food at the restaurant was superb and the staff attentive. Letitzia the manager who welcomed us was a delight, and very helpful with arranging a medical referral as well ( much appreciated!), and bus tickets too! It is a very special place and we highly recommend it and won’t hesitate to stay again!! Laura also is a wonderful host and you feel like a personal guest in her home!

Easy bus connection to Florence, from Fiesole square less than 5 minutes walk from the flat. Take the bus 7, price 1.50 €, and about 30 minutes of travel.

So we sorted our own out on the train from Milan to Florence ) I was initially disappointed not to be nearer Florence ( as originally planned), however, it was very easy to get the bus into Florence. We ate both nights at a restaurant in the town - which was lovely. Self service breakfast at the hotel on the terrace was also lovely. Staff also sorted us out with extra pillows as soon as we requested them.

It is so quiet and has a real Tuscany vibe yet so close to Florence( bus 7 was very handy). The place is sparkling clean and the host went above and beyond to take care of our needs. She checked us in the after hours when we were delayed because of a missing luggage. She gave us her personal phone number and was only a text away responding to every need we had. Room was cleaned and towels were changed every day. AC was running great. I will miss the abundant breakfast and the cappuccinos.maklenAlbania

The position of the hotel had great views over looking Florence. The road leading up to the hotel has public transport if you do not opt to drive or get there by taxi. The breakfast selection was very good, and the evening meal was exceptional. The bar was open to use, we did not use it during our stay as we made alternative plans.

The flat was very cute and spacious, we especially loved the kitchen. Gorgeous view as well on the way to the bus stop every day, where the centre of Florence can be easily reached. We went multiple times to the restaurant nearby "Vinandro Vino e Desco Molle", highly recommended. The archaeological ruins in Fiesole are worth a short visit as well 🙂

We were expecting to be able to walk to the centre and bus stop, but further than we anticipated and no pavement so need to drive to village and park in free car park 400m from the bus stop. Busses are regular and only €1.50 to city. Room was large and clean and breakfast adequate.
