We loved the whole place! The appartement was beautiful, clean and designed with love. And it was calm! I can't remember that I ever have slept as good as at Frostastaðir (part of that were of course the very cozy beds!). Highly recommend this place!

This is my second time staying here and I will be coming back again. Amazing place to stay. Surrounded by mountains and a going for a swim/soak outside is just wonderful. Having a small kitchen area to cook is a real bonus too.

The host was a great communicator and even though we booked this knowing it was a shared bathroom turned out we had place to ourselves and host kindly upgraded us to the larger family room.
Loved the heated flooring during winter time. Host also kindly pointed out when the northern lights were out which we otherwise would have missed.

Bad experience with the Bakkaflöt Guesthouse.
Bad experience with the Bakkaflöt Guesthouse. We updated our arrival time, but the hotel did not give a reply. During check in, we showed our reservation letter to a elder staff, but she said no:( and was not friendly. They did also not inform us gate will be closed and the room key can't open the gate!. Because of puncture, we came back to the hotel around 1 o'clock in the morning and the gate was closed. We have to call the staff. Fortunately, that elder staff came to open the gate, but she seemed unhappy and blamed us when we check out.LMH92Denmark - 10Scored 10

It’s perfect for a family trip around Iceland. We stay here for five nights. While we were here we rested from our trip around the South. However, you may have to wait before you can start cooking. Efficient & easy self check-in. Note: The guesthouse is in the middle of nowhere. There is only a gas station a few km away wehere you can buy some basic food and a smaller caming side with a small restaurant (we did not try this out).
