The guesthouse gave a accurate description of the area so we knew what services were there and not there and could plan ahead. We loved walking around and the sights and hikes that were nearby. It was so easy to get to the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, and we could go back to see them at night too. The hosts had many recommendations for what to do and it definitely enhanced our trip!

Absolutely loved the variety of fresh, farm to table offerings, and homemade breads at breakfast. Dinner menu was extensive, meals were delicious. Enjoyed seeing the sea birds, and sheep in the pasture. Views of mountain and bay/ ocean were great. Very close to Glacier Bay and Diamond Beach. Peaceful. Staff were friendly. Highly recommend and will return when I come back to Iceland.

we had an early assembly for ice cave/glacier walk so the location was perfect (<15min drive). Nearby area to visit are Diamond Beach & Iceberg Lagoon but we missed that due to bad weather condition.

Wonderful place to stay! Review of Hali Country Hotel

Wonderful place to stay! Review of Hali Country Hotel Reviewed today We chose it because of the proximity to the glacier lagoon and diamond beach. What we didn’t know was that it was the perfect place for a super comfortable first night after flying and a long drive. The owners contacted us in the morning to ask if we’d like dinner, which we gratefully agreed to, as we’d not been to this area before and knew we would be tired after a long travel day. The dinner was delicious with great choices, and was beautifully spread red and served. The surrounding property was stunning - farmlands and majestic cliffs filled with seabirds. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and new modern amenities. I will definitely return

Some great features in this part of Iceland, Diamond Beach was just incredible and like nothing else I have ever seen, just wish I had had the time to stay and take photos all day and night. The LAgoon upstream was also incredible, worth visiting after high tide and again as the time is coming in, the Icebergs move in a different way at both stages of the tides and it is worth seeing both.

its just great to see the icebergs at the lagoon floating out to the sea. If you have time, watch the whole cycle of the tide. Also don´t miss diamond beach. Especially in the morning when the sun rises you can take great pictures of the sparkling ice pieces lying on the black beach.

Super nice location 10 minutes from Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon plus the immediate surroundings are great - mountain facing guesthouse, ocean behind. Two restaurants right there. There's a nice gravel lane that makes for a great stroll, very scenic. Had milk and juice for guest use and cake in evenings which was very nice. Room was bigger than I expected, would definitely stay there again although it was probably the most expensive place I stayed on trip

Beautiful location with easy access to the glacier lagoon and surrounding areas! The room was clean and the hot shower was much appreciated after a long day in the rain snd cold. We planned ahead and brought sandwiches because there isn’t much in the way of food in the area and that worked out well with the mini fridge to store food over might. We were sorry we couldn’t stay longer, but will come back the next time we’re in Iceland.

The location of the hotel is perfect, situated just 15 km from the Glacier and Diamond beach. The staff was notably friendly. The room was pretty spacious and clean. Also we dined at the hotel's restaurant, and we must say the food was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was delicious too. We appreciated the opportunity to try some homemade delicacies made of lamb, such as sausage, smoked lamb, pate etc.

Amazing hosts, friendly and helpful. Great location and great fresh coffee machine. Welcome Marriage cake - a delicious treat! Great to chat with other travellers. Quiet, esp considering fully booked. On that note - book as soon as you can. There is little accommodation available and Hotels are expensive for a family. Would happily return here.... Guests were considerate of each other.

Staff was super nice, there was welcome cake that was delicious! Everything was clean and comfortable the kitchen was well stocked. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and skyr were complimentary. The room was a good size and came with a sink which was nice to have. A couple of restaurants in the same parking area, they are pricey, but that's to be expected in iceland.

This hotel is really cute. The rooms are a good size, clean, and have a nice view of the water. The breakfast buffet was a nice touch too. They had a lot of different options to choose from. Plus, it’s a 12 minute drive to the glacier lagoon, which is why we were in the area. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend to friends staying in the area.

The hostel is located in a very small village (few buildings), where there are also two restaurants. The room was good, the shared bathrooms were good, and the staff was very helpful and nice. It is a very good solution in such area. I recommend it.

Great location for Diamond Beach with an excellent restaurant next door. Rooms are cosy (like a cabin), but a nice size, and the place was clean. We saw an owner briefly, but checked in and out by ourselves, which is the norm in Iceland it seems!
