    Matheran is always better in monsoon, even in winter than...

    Matheran is always better in monsoon, even in winter than summer. The sight seeing views would not be exciting in the summer. So, let monsoon cover mountains with greenery and let the rainy clouds pass through the hill. Then, it is worth visiting. But, yes... good to enjoy sunrise. Ample of options for food, veg food for Gujaratis. Avoid visiting in hot summer.

    Good rooms. Good scenic beauty.

    Good rooms. Good scenic beauty. Good Rajasthani Chef turning good veg food. Good swimming pool. Problem area is, inconvenient location and distance from market. It can be problematic for senior citizens and family with small kids. Secondly, owner was seen drinking near hotel gate with local buddies. And then sitting on reception with buddies. This made ladies uncomfortable. It seems he is a local politician. Secondly, horse guy connected to hotel one Mr Bhavya is complete extortionist forcing people to pay high rates for horse and forcing hand rickshaws at high rates, right in front of hotel staff.

    Matheran is very serene place and mostly for nature loving travelers It's proximity to Mumbai makes it good option as hill station. Beware of monkey's. Visit Panorama point,Charlotte lake and Pisarnath Mandir Go by Mini Train from Neral

    Monsoon is a great time to visit.

    Monsoon is a great time to visit. No sweating during trekking. Greenery everywhere. Misty forests and hills, and when the mist or clouds clear up, it's like heaven revealed. Mobiles of only Airtel worked when we were there. Neither jio nor voda were working. Surprising considering Reliance has its huge guesthouse at Matheran (Rugby & a smaller one next to Adamo).

    Matheran is a very pleasant spot to visit.

    Matheran is a very pleasant spot to visit. Though we visited in May I would love to visit again in winter. Very good place for nature lovers. Good restaurant for a peaceful stay. There are some good resorts out there. We stayed at Westend. Nice place. 2/3 days in enough. There are so many spots to visit here. But I liked Alexander point the most. Roads to reach the resorts is in very bad condition. A walk, hand carts or horses are only alternatives. But a must visit place.

    Excellent place to visit with family & friends.

    Excellent place to visit with family & friends. Infrastructure (roads, public toilets, etc) needs to be improved a lot. Travelling to different tourist destinations is a bit expensive in Hand-pulled Rickshaws. Not a good place for Bird Watching due to thick vegetation.
