Skip the Chettinad Palace and Thousand windows because it is not open for public. Instead go for Mansion Hopping, a few to go are VVR Heritage House and CVRM Heritage House, SASRM. Better to avoid the one very next to VVR Heritage especially if you are a solo traveler, the lady of the place doesn't like to host solo travelers. Take a stroll through the village, a mesmerizing experience that would be. Athangudi Palace is worth the visit and if interested please do visit Athangudi Tiles also Don't Skip Thirumayam Fort and Sittannavasal Jain Cave too. Great place to visit for temples and Chettinad architecture. Wanted to experience Chettinad cuisine but it was difficult to find local cuisine of good quality. Could find good quality local food at high end restaurants only.
