The location is great, right at the top of the town. The bedroom was big. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was an unexpected bonus, as it wasn't mentioned in the booking. There is a sitting room on the ground floor which has tea and coffee making facilities and even a fridge, which we made full use of. It can be difficult to find an affordable restaurant in Westport on a Monday and Tuesday night (they all seem to have those as their days off) so we bought bread and cheese and ate in the sitting room.

The castle and grounds are pristinely kept. The staff are warm and welcoming. The breakfast was exceptional and the dungeon bar had amazing dinner options. We especially enjoyed chatting in the library bar and sitting by the fire in the lounge. We met wonderful guests and told/heard so many stories. We can’t wait to go back!
