    It was within a 20-30 minute drive of many sites that show...

    It was within a 20-30 minute drive of many sites that show the history of Ireland - such as the ancient town of Athenry and a "Work House" from the mid-1800s right after the famine. You could not imagine the history without being there. Also, the countryside remains rural, yet only about a 2 hour drive from Dublin.
