Fishermans Village with Sea Views, hotel in Ballyhoorisky

Offering a garden and mountain view, Fishermans Village with Sea Views is located in Downings, 29 km from Dunfanaghy Golf Club and 37 km from Glenveagh National Park and Castle.

We fell in love with Dooey and Fishermans Village - this is a really special place. The location couldn’t be more perfect, with incredible sea and countryside views and a wild and beautiful beach a couple of minutes walk away. Downings is no more than 10 minutes drive with a good selection of places to get great food. The accommodation is well furnished - comfortable, cosy and with everything you need. The sitting room for guest use was a great place to relax. Breakfast is excellent. And Kathleen and the team are so welcoming and friendly and lovely to talk to. With we could have stayed longer and planning to come back soon.

The room is nicely decorated and very comfortable. The bar is lovely and cosy and there is a lovely seating area along a corridor, perfect for winding down and having a quiet drink. The rooms, bar and the entire hotel is spotless, it was incredibly clean and well kept. The staff were brilliant, in particular the night porter Joe, who assisted us with a late check in and the proceeded to take exceptional care of us, very lovely and friendly, just what you need after a five hour drive.

Beautiful spot just on the edges of this lovely town - a ten minute walk but we also used taxis and that was never an issue. The views are amazing and a gorgeous garden to sit in and admire them. Everything was such good quality and the breakfasts just delicious with all options of breakfast delights available. Everyone was so friendly and lovely and we had a great time. Thank you 🙏

We went for a short break with our 2 spaniels, as we do every September. The chalet was lovely, cute if a little small, but it had everything you could need for your stay. It had a log burner stove in the living room a TV and hifi for the cold evenings indoors. One double bedroom and one small single bedroom. It is very close to the lovely sandy beach. Literally 5 minutes walk. The area has lovely scenery and coastline to explore. Not many pubs, shops, or eateries close by. Our only negative was it was hard to find anywhere close to eat out. The are 3 pubs in the near area. One was closed down, one didnt serve food at that time of year, and the other didnt let dogs in. It did the job for us and we enjoyed our stay there, plus the weather held out for us :-)
