So much to see of historic nature and the beauty of the landscape breathtaking, from the Skelligs to cliff walks to the beauty of the blue flag beaches in the area. Food lovers paradise. Favourite restaurant is Driftwood, just 10 minute drive from Ballinskelligs. Cois Trá Café with a stroll down to the beach a must.

The staff and guests were very open an hospitable in the Hostel before, during and after the trip. We were disappointed not to get to the islands because of the weather but there was so much else to se and do in the area that we had plenty of alternatives. There was terrific scenery to see no matter what road we took for a walk in the area and we left knowing we needed to stay a lot longer ! The beach café close by was a novel experience for us.

A beautifully quiet village with a lovely safe beach for swimming, and other watersports, lots of great walks, and has a beautiful backdrop of mountains. It has one small shop only and one pub. There is an arts centre with coffee shop but not open consistently. It's a few miles to Cahirciveen or Waterville to find restaurants and theres a Supervalue supermarket in Cahirciveen. The skies at night are magnificent due to lack of light pollution

There is a lot to see, so get on your bike and explore the entire area. When you finished biking go for a hot Chocolate at the chocolate factory. Otherwise just chill and have a good rest. There is a good bit of history in the area, you can also connect with something positive and beautiful on the spiritual side!

Good beach walk, ruined abbey to visit (free), Sunday morning craft and food market. Pub had gone downhill since last visit and was not yet doing food. Nor were the take away places opposite open in mid-June. There is one well equipped shop, but it closed around 6pm and one cafe that I did not get a chance to visit. A place for people who like the simple life!

We were made to feel at home from the very beginning of our stay. The turf fire was set and ready to be lit and there was a lovely loaf of homemade brown bread in the bread bin. We were able to BBQ in the shed in the evenings, which was great in rainy weather. The WiFi signal was excellent, and the surroundings are peaceful, quiet, and very safe! The location is a 10 minute drive from Portmagee, and the comfy bed welcomed us every night on our return from sightseeing. We would love to stay again if visiting the area.

Setting is beautiful and peaceful. The views from the sunroom are spectacular of the Irish countryside and you can see St. Finian's Bay and Skellig Michael. Great skellig ring location. We got to help herd sheep and watch shearing! Host Michael was very quick to respond to our requests and went above and beyond to resolve minor problems. The house is well equipped and accommodated 5 adults well. The wood burning stove worked well and was pleasant to use when the Summer Irish weather turned cooler.

Location is very good, quite close to the Ballinskelligs beach and easy distance to Waterville, Finian's Bay, Cahirciveen, and Port Magee. You have the whole cottage to yourself and the upstairs rooms are very big, full bathrooms upstairs and downstairs (downstairs is en suite in the third bedroom). Full kitchen and good size common area. Four cottages with a shared driveway area our front, plenty parking. Someone did come by the day after arrival to check in and see did we need anything.

The kitchen had room for three people to cook simultaneously, and amenities to accommodate (pans, pots, flatware, dinnerware). The dining area was on the small side, but large enough to have four or five families (in normal times). Pleasant decor, decent quality as well. Good hostel setup.

Comfortable and close to Ring of Kerry. Our favorite part was talking to Dominic. He told us some great stories and played us a song he wrote. His Wife Lillian was a great Chef and her pancakes were lovely. We hope to be back someday. Rock-n-roll <3 Reneé & Bryan

Lillian and Dominic made our stay special. They are warm and charming! We connected with them immediately. They have chickens and offer fresh eggs for breakfast. And, they recommended sites in the area - the local beach, the Skelligs Ring and Valentia island.
