The view is magnificent. But that's about it. The rest is unacceptable for the price they take.
We have been travelling through Indonesia for over 25 years and have always stayed in smaller homestays. So we know well what we could expect and what not. And the price we paid for this (non-) performance is absolutely excessive.
Unfortunately, we had booked a longer period in advance and could not cancel. Not recommended to do this.
We are disappointed and we feel mislead.
The pictures on booking.com give the impression of something that does not exist. When I look at the pictures of the breakfast, I expect to get a breakfast like that.
But there is no juice, no fruit, no jam. There are omelettes/scrambled eggs of very poor quality or pancakes from the microwave.
The guys ask in the evening what you want to have for breakfast and at what time.
How am I supposed to know that in the evening? I don't know in the evening what I'll be hungry for in the morning, nor do I want to set an alarm clock on holiday.
But you have to here. Because it's ready at the specified time. Regardless of whether you're there or not. If you arrive late, the omelette and coffee is cold and the toast is hard. And even if you are on time, the quality is more than poor.
Every chair, every table, the whole floor is covered with bird droppings. There are only 3 tables, it's not that much work to keep them clean.
You can order 2 of the 26 dishes on the menu. Beer, Coke and Sprite are available. (In a fridge that has apparently never been cleaned in its life)
Drinking water was not available. No gallon for refill and not even bottles to buy.
At a location where there is no supermarket around the corner.
There is a blender, but it's broken. There is no toaster at all. They do the toast with oil in a pan.
When we arrived, the kitchen looked like a bomb had exploded. They tidied up but didn't clean. Every glass is dirty, greasy and sticky. Disgusting.

This property was a delight for nature lovers! It offered a welcome escape from the tourist crowds, providing a peaceful and authentic Balinese experience. The highlight for me was the abundance of birdlife in the garden. I spotted a variety of colorful birds throughout the day, and even Bali Mynas flitting around.
I highly recommend booking a birdwatching tour with Putu, the host. Putu's knowledge of the local birds is impressive, and the tour was a fantastic way to explore the surrounding farms, mangroves, and beaches. Putu's guidance helped me spot a wider variety of birds than I could have on my own.
Overall, this property is perfect for those seeking a tranquil stay surrounded by nature.

Friendly rural homestay, where you lived as part of the family. Great to be so welcomed. Individual bungalows with outside seating.
We were there when the family was celebrating Galungan so lovely to see all the decorations and the family in their best clothes. Because of the celebrations we had to stay another day as no taxis were available and luckily Sila was able to arrange this for us and also a taxi for the next day at a great price which was cheaper than Gojek.
Sila runs his own diving company Ray Menjangan so easy to book snorkelling and scuba which was fantastic on Menjangan Island better than the Barrier Reef as so many fish and beautiful coral. He also arranged underwater photos for us, so we will have lovely memories.
Very reasonable local warung to eat our favourite was at Dapoer Chandra 20min walk or 5min scooter.
Located in Banyuwedang, 8.7 km from Pulaki Temple and 37 km from Menjangan Island, Gara Menjangan Homestay offers a garden and air conditioning.

The stay is very nice, I really liked the outdoor bathroom. And the most beautiful is the garden and the porch where you sit and have breakfast. The host is one of the nicest people we met, he made us delicious breakfast, coffee and was very interesting to talk to and even explained us about the culture over some free drinks he provided. A really hospitable person and a very beautiful Homestay.

First of all, the location is amazing. It is very close to nature with all its beauty in landscape, flora and sounds. You can get a very authentic picture of life on Bali here. Then on top of that, Made, the host, is a very generous and kind man, who will make sure that you have the perfect stay and that your every wish will be fulfilled.

Well the main attraction off Banyuwedang is the people really , such genuine friendliness is rare in the world . I liked diving at menjangan island and permuteran . The west Bali natural park is worth to see but a bit pricey at 1400K hiking with guide . The highlight was the trip to the Ijen Vulcano ( ferry to java ) . Don't expect good eating opportunities as this place is really not touristic . Best eating was at white sandy beach hotel . Hotspring was also very nice . Give the place a week of your time not more .

Place is peaceful and less tourists and foods and drinks are not too expensive as other places. It had its charm of its own. If you like nature this is a must place to visit. Take time thou because long hours to reach from Denpasar Airport but its worth it.
Unbelievably special hotel with the kindest host! I’ve stayed in some pretty luxurious and fancy hotels in my life (Ritz Carlton, The Edition) and I can honestly say that this place beats them all. The view from the villas and pool is breathtaking. The attention to detail is impressive. And I really can’t overstate how kind and helpful the host (Made) and his family are. This part of Bali is also so much more authentic and less touristy than the hot spots down south. You will not regret booking here. We are already planning our trip back.
We really enjoyed this hotel and especially the peaceful and calm environment (you can hear birds from your bed which is very nice, you hear beach waves and birds if you do a massage), the staff (truly amazing, nice and respectful!), the food (breakfast includes eggs meal or traditional indonesian meal, hot and cold beverages and a « healthy » meal) and the wine. The « tent » atmosphere is also quite nice and makes you feel at the end of the world.
If you are looking for a chill bali that’s the place to go.
The food in the restaurant is amazing they fermet so many things by them self for example there own tonic water.
The vibe is very chill and it’s nice to connect with others
There is no beach but you can rent a kayak and paddle for 20min and you will have a small sand island just for yourself. The exercise is totally worth.
The most friendliest stuff ever.
The staff were very accommodating and did anything for us. The restaurant food was lovely. The property was very quiet and relaxing. They are currently adding some improvements and hope to host more tourists in the near future. Like a lot of places in Bali, they are still getting back on their feet following Covid lockdowns. The potential is there for this to be a fantastic resort.
We had such a great time here! It felt like home due to the warmth and hospitality of the owners. We did beautiful trips (snorkeling, National Park and Ijen) which we all highly recommend. We are so grateful that after the overnight Ijen trip we were able to take a shower and sleep a few hours without extra charge. If we come to Bali again we certainly will come back here
This is a beautiful property with a wonderful staff, they were extremely kind and helpful. They took me to visit a beautiful nearby temple; I didn’t have the correct clothes so the owner of this property lent me a sarong, shirt and headwear. The food was delicious and I got to taste a full range of typical west Bali cuisine during my stay.
I booked this as a birthday present for my friends who then spent a morning on a Menjangan Island snorkeling tour. Sila, the owner was so lovely, always looking after my friends, even catered for them on a 'late arrival'. Thank you Sila, I will be visiting you on my next Bali trip.
The hotel is found within the national park. The surroundings are serene, the staff is genuinely friendly and helpful, the bungalows are romantic and luxurious. There were many activities available including snorkeling, nature walks and cooking classes. An exceptional experience.
We love the location inside the West Bali Nat Park, with opportunities to spot wildlife, plenty of soft trekking, snorkel and diving, and good food from the restaurant. Also love the observation deck of Bali Tower and Bird Watching tower. The staffs were ultra helpfull.
We enjoyed our stay so much! This place will be in my heart forever. It's so peaceful and relaxing, with a hot water pool as well as a big pool. It's one of my best stays in Bali.
But keep in mind, it's an isolated place with its merits and demerits.
Absolutely the best hotel experience in all the years we have travelled - stunning location, the most friendly, welcoming, helpful staff we have ever encountered. Nothing too much trouble - it felt like they were our family! Love them all
The sympathetic setting if the hotel in nature. The priority was the welfare of the surroundings. Naturally beautiful. Amazing snorkling. Welfare of guests was also considered. Lovely staff. Welcoming and informative. Stunning location
