It was a very nice stay. The staff was very nice and the food was tasty (we got huge portions). We swam in the river, went zip line and kayaking. It is very quiet and pleasant around. Beautiful place. There were some mosquitoes, but that's obvious if you book a house in such a place. And the location is great.
El Hotelito Perdido is a little jungle hideaway located in a middle of Rio Dulce National Park.

This stay was magical. Arriving by boat, you enter a place where everyone is friendly, relaxed and social. A path through the jungle, passing beautiful plants and plenty of little crabs (and a small turtle!), leads to the common room & reception. There, every evening all guests eat together, where copious & delicious vegetarian meals are served. After everyone has shared their experiences and planned activities with each other, the manager comes round to organize all the trips for the next day. A seamless experience. I stayed in a very nice cabin with a (barely functioning) fan, with shared bathroom. The Mayan massage is highly recommendable as well!

Martha & her family did everything to make our 3 nights stay as good as possible. The bungalow was spacious, had nice hammocks on its balcony and clean bathroom. The location was ideal: close to nice highlights in Rio Dulce with kayak, while you could fully relax at Casa Maya.

Casa Nostra will handle all of your needs while in Livingston.
I stayed here for four days and it was very nice.
I stayed in one of the larger rooms that had two twin beds and a queen with cold A/C.
The food was fantastic having breakfast here and a couple of dinner's. Including the Tapado. YUM!
Stuart the Proprietor is on site and always around to answer any questions.
He had a bike for me to use and I rode all over. 👍
He can also arrange transport to Rio Dulce or back to Punta Gorda. Best thing is the boat picks you up right at his dock.
Will definitely stay here again.

- Food was delicious!
- Staff very helpful! They recommended El Boquerón to us which we hadn’t heard about and absolutely loved it. I left a pair of swimwear behind after checking out and they kindly sent it to Rio Dulce Travel office for me to collect.
- Location. There’s lots of great hotels/hostels/eco lodges along Rio Dulce, but Tortugal was perfect because there’s access to the main road where you can then go to the hot waterfall or Boquerón and also into Rio Dulce easily.

Nice, chill place with a lovely family. Good food and drink.
Great spot on the Rio Dulce from which to visit other places...
Great spot on the Rio Dulce from which to visit other places on the river away from the congestion and noise of the towns of Livingston and Rio Dulce (actually Fronteras). The manatee preserve, the island of birds (Isla de Pájaros), Burnt Key (Cayo Quemado) and the canyon of the Rio Dulce are all relatively close. We enjoyed having lunch over at Mini-Mike’s Juke Joint on Burnt Key and at Casa Nostra in Livingston. Both of which have their own docks so we went directly by boat (arranged by Tenamit Maya for very reasonable prices).
