This hotel was absolutely breathtaking. The room was amazing with a water view and our terrace. The staff was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious, and the weather was gorgeous while we were there. We felt like royalty at this resort. This hotel is almost perfect. We loved our room, with a comfy bed and windows that opened out to the village. The hotel staff were warm and kind, giving us tips for dinner and info about the area. We appreciated the Nespresso coffee in our room. And the breakfast was amazing - fresh Greek food and homemade pastries. The atmosphere was peaceful and beautiful.

Easy walk without steps but Andreas easily arranged for a
Porter to meet us at the dock. Andreas and other staff were always ready to help with a smile. The hotel was situated in such a way that it made us feel part of a village.
I would get a terrace room
As then you have a great outdoor space with of view of the hills and peak view of port. Loved to hear donkeys walking by.
Breakfast was fantastic. When we were there if you had not
paid ahead it was well worth the 10 Euros.
We stayed 2 weeks and loved every minute. The first day we arrived I took such a restful nap on the lounge chair on the deck. Hope to return! And the bed was

Pros: Clean, great food, many options, a lot to see.
Pros: Clean, great food, many options, a lot to see. Good for walking, has small horses and donkeys for transportation. No cars. Everything in walking distance.
Cons: many of the restaurants were not open (March 2024), while their websites said they were. Relevantly pricey. Ugly, monstrous yachts moored at the front of the little harbour. Expect tourists with an attitude - not very friendly.

Hydra is the sort of place where you can quite happily sit...
Hydra is the sort of place where you can quite happily sit at a cafe on the harbour side and do nothing apart from watch the boats and people come and go. It’s such a beautiful harbour. There’s a swimming area at the headland at one end of the harbour, where the rocks have been modelled to provide comfortable sitting and sunbathing, and where the water is an absolutely gorgeous colour. There are taxi boats to beaches further away, tho I didn’t use them.

Hydra is car free, which makes the stay so unique.
Hydra is car free, which makes the stay so unique. Villas and houses climb up from the port connected by narrow alleyway and stairs. Donkeys to haul your luggage to your rental if up on the hill. Water taxis to take you to other bays. Very relaxing place to stay at.

Hydra is a quiet and well preserved town.
Hydra is a quiet and well preserved town. It is stunningly beautiful. I loved seeing the boats and I loved swimming off the rocky beaches. I could definitely spend more time there. It's a perfect place to relax and unwind.
We were surprised at how lovely the room was even in its simplicity, with furniture that matched the vintage building, a view over the rooftops of hydra, nice crispy sheets and an efficient AC unit. Efie and her family took great care of us and gave good advice on what to see and where to eat. The hotel was easy to get to on foot, and a few steps up from a souvenir shop where you could find Efie or a family member to help out with anything. Hydra is a magical place and staying at Pension Efie added to the charm.
The guesthous is like 7min walking away from the harbour, kind of at the edge of the town, so it’s location is quietBig room! Nice view from the terraces. Water kettle and refrigerator in the room. The shower is seperated from the toilet with a wall, so the bathroom doesn‘t get completely wet like usually in greece. The water is very hot. The owner was very nice and already waited for us. As we forgot our toothpaste the owner was helpful in providing us with a small toothpastetube.
I am so sorry that I have forgotten the wonderful and who owns the hotel. He is fabulous. He gave us such a beautiful greeting and helped us with our Ferry Tickets during a time when they were storms and the schedule was a little tricky. The room is very clean and in very good condition. It was perfect for our short stay but would’ve been a little small for any longer period of time, but highly recommend this wonderful hotel and the wonderful man who owns it👍

The room is located very close to the harbor and you don't have to carry the luggage very far. The location is ideal to visit the nearby restaurants, bars and shops. The owner if very polite, helpful and flexible in arrival times. They even turned on the water heater and A/C so I could have a hot shower upon arrival. Hotel Glaros is my prefered accomodation in Hydra.
Breakfast was great! Eleni is literally great, so kind, and always at our service. Yanis as well.
Location is what I like the most and the charming garden and architecture/interior (old style) of the hotel.
Many thanks for all! My 6 years old kid and I enjoyed Hydra so much - beaches and town. All recommendations!
Lovely boutique hotel with amazing terrace on the port of Hydra! Julietta was an amazing receptionist in helping us sort out some unexpected changes and her colleague at breakfast (sorry forgot her name) was so friendly, that these 2 ladies made the extra plus for our stay !
We loved everything in Hydra Icons. Starting with Ioannis support and gentleness, and ending with a beautiful hotel, super comfortable room, with daily cleaning service, great views, an artistic touch and, cherry on top, the sweetest cat of the island - Gina.
stayed in two hotels in Hydra. this was much more expensive than other and not nearly as good either. room very basic and rather run down no breakfast felt more like a private room in hostel than hotel. great location but overall it was adequate no more
This is one of my favorite places I have ever stayed! The staff is beyond incredible, as the Hotel is family owned and operated. The breakfast was fantastic and everything on the island is walking distance. I love this place so much! A gem in Hydra!
Lovely little boutique hotel on Hydra. Our room was quiet, spacious, extremely clean& comfortable. Slept like a log here! Breakfast was on a lovely outdoor terrace and was very decent. A very pleasant and relaxing experience.
great location!! right in the port, everything we wanted to do was a short walk from the hotel:) also, Dafni was amazing and helped us figure out how to take the sea taxis. super kind and helpful🩵
It is a beautiful, centrally located hotel that is nearly furnished. The public areas seem to have antique decor, the rooms are modern and the patio was lovely! We enjoyed breakfast each morning.
The hotel is located in a convenient area, very close to the port and several great restaurants. The rooms have everything you need and there is a cleaning service too.
Friendly, relaxed central hotel on Hydra. Could be called basic, but I had ensuite, balcony and views. Access to the roof with camp kitchen/laundry was a nice touch
