This is a really charming small hotel within walking distance to the Ancient Olympia Archeological Site. Each room had a nice little balcony looking out onto the street. The staff kindly gave us a very good restaurant recommendation for dinner. The town itself is really lovely in a gorgeous setting.
Hotel Ilis is located at the entrance of the town of Ancient Olympia, approximately 200 metres from the centre. The museum and the ancient stadium are 3 km away.

The owner and the staff were all excellent. The service was impeccable, the location of the hotel ideal, within walking distance of the museum - exceptional value for money proposition. Will definitely be staying there again on my next visit to Olympia.

Enormous room, plus large balcony with views over Olympia. Hotel also has good sized swimming pool which was most welcome at end of a long hot day of driving. Location is excellent - on hill overlooking the town - away from the town noise but still very short walk (about 5 minutes) into the main street and restaurant area. And good breakfast selection also.
Offering mountain views, Leonidaion Guesthouse is an accommodation located in Olympia, 1 km from Temple of Zeus and 1 km from Ancient Olympia.

I didn’t realise just how important Olympia was, the first Olympic Games happened here, the ancient state of Greece was inaugurated here, some of the greatest sculpture ever made reside here. All set amongst the most beautiful landscape.

Obviously, the main reason to visit Olympia is fror the ancient ruins of the Stadium and surrounding artifacts. It is a full day to see everything. We didn't engage the audio guide, as it was a bit complicated with a pre-set-up and download. But I recommend going into the museum to see the model of the area as it was in use to more fully enjoy and identify the ruins. Walking under the arched tunnel into the stadium made the hair on my arms stand up - such an energy.

Olympia was quite a surprise for me.
Olympia was quite a surprise for me.
Considering its a small town it had all you could need.
The ancient archeological site is a must see for anyone interested in history and the museum is great also and a must see as well.
The town is cosy with everything walking distance and at night its something else with restaurants and bars and shops all lit up and vibrant plus wide tree lined streets that make it a pleasure to walk through.
I can definitely recommend it and maybe a stop over on the way to the Ionian islands.
Ohhh forgot to say that one of the nicest restaurants is Taverna Orestis where i had one of the nicest meals iv had in my 9 weeks in Greece i can highly recommend it.

One night stay is enough for visiting the Archeological Site and the Museums. The small the town has only two major streets, one with shady restaurants and the other with shops. You can fint not only the Olimpia museums but a small museum about Archimedes which is really worth to visit.
It is quite a long time to get to Olimpia from the direction of Corinth, but you can choose the slower route across the hills which hides lovely villages.

Small village which is mainly famous for the museum.
Small village which is mainly famous for the museum. Besides this, there was not much of interest around. Therefore, if you are mainly interested in visiting the museum just plan for one night and be on your way.
Bacchus is a very nice property with comfortable, clean rooms and a wonderful restaurant on premises. We had a lower level room with a beautiful view of the valley. Although we did not use it, there is a very clean, modern pool and patio next to the restaurant. Bacchus' location is just a short drive to Olympia's ancient ruins, but removed enough from the somewhat ordinary town. Bacchus offers a nice little respite from the typical Olympia hotel.
The staff were super friendly. The restaurant was great and extremely generous with complimentary dishes--some bruschetta as a starter and a fruit salad for dessert. The view from the restaurant was incredible. Next time we are in Greece we would love to go back and stay for a few days at Hotel Europa Olympia to relax by the pool and enjoy the good food and terrific accommodations.
Exceptionally warm greeting from Kostas. Very central location, hot showers, good coffee at the bakery nearby. Great idea to stay overnight and get an early start at museum and parks, especially in winter when closure is 3.30pm. So much to see and experience at the key sites. The gods favoured us with good weather and autumnal tones. Glad we visited!
The king size bed and bedroom had a cute patio and the living room had to twin beds. It was cute and decorated nice. There was Nescafe and Tea for the morning. It was in a great location near many restaurants and walking distance to the archeological sites. The host was friendly. Instructions were clear. I would stay there again.
This hotel has a good location for visiting the ancient ruins and museum of Olympia. It is run by a friendly owner and his sweet elderly father who prepared traditional Greek fried dough with honey for our breakfast. It was clear they enjoy interacting with their guests. We enjoyed talking with "Barba Fotis."
The hotel host earns "10" points, it was so nice "meet and greet " in hotel. Breakfast was very good and if you have not place where to sit inside you can sit near table in the yard, so nice. Hotel room is very simply but you have bathroom and bed, it is enough for traveler.
Clean and big rooms with blacony, good breakfast. The owners are very kind and helpfull, giving great advices about places to visit and restaurants nearby. Nice breakfast and resting area at the ground floor. Possibily to use the swimming pool of their partner hotel nearby.
Staff welcomed us immediately with warm smiles and were very helpful. We traveled in the off season so the pool was closed, which was a bummer for our kids. Great location. Amazing staff. Easy location to all of the amazing sites in Olympia. Lots of parking.
Simple and basic. Friendly staff. Walking distance from Ancient Olympia site. It's a place foe 1-2 night stay not more.
We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so can't say anything about it.
Variety of restaurants and cafes in walking distance.
The apartment was spacious, functional beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Amazing views. It was located ideally for visiting ancient Olympia and the area. Most importantly, the hosts were charming, friendly and very helpful.
The Hotel was located very close to Olympia site and the main street with lots of access to restaurants and bars. Very clean and tidy hotel with friendly helpful staff. Parking was available right outside the hotel
Ideal location - a 5 minute walk from the town and 15 mins from the museums.
En-suite bathroom and balcony was a big plus.
Pool access nearby - although I didn’t visit.
The staff were friendly and hospitable.
Late check in was possible without any problems. The room was very clean and nicely furnitured. The breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. The location close to the old Olympia side is great.
Delicious breakfast, wonderfully helpful host, spotless room, balcony, plenty of hot water, walking distance to downtown Olympia and museum, great place to stay!
