We were very impressed with the service and had a great stay. We were a bit disappointed with our first room and asked to upgrade to a room in the associated hotel, Washington Central, and this request was granted. As we were on our honeymoon, the front desk even offered us a huge discount on the upgrade to make our stay more special - it was an above and beyond gesture that we appreciated so much. Great service and nice amenities (pool, sauna, hot tub).

Workington was better than expected Plenty of shops and parking Flowers were blooming and very colourful on a lot of the streets It was a good place for us to stay as a base, we travelled around the coast line up to Gretna where a wedding was going on.
We went around the Lake district and found St Bees a lovely place to watch surfers , swimming and peddle boarding and lots of children enjoying the pools after the sea had gone out

It's one of the start points for the C2C cycle or walk routes - the others are at Whitehaven or St Bees. Both those are much nicer than Workington.
I ate in the Henry Bessemer - a Wetherspoon's pub, which was good value WYSIWYG. Cheaper there than the awful hotel Waverley by several quid - and drinks much better value too.

A busy little town near the Solway Coast.
A busy little town near the Solway Coast. Tricky one way system until you become used to it. The town has a number of takeaway establishments but would benefit from more eateries. A good leisure centre and nice walks in this area.

Easy access to the lake district fells and the west coast.
Easy access to the lake district fells and the west coast. Close to the fantastic market town of Cockermouth. Plenty choice of amazing restaurants and independent shops. Transport is very good for those who don't drive with buses into Keswick, Ambleside and Winderemere.

It is only 28 minutes from Keswick so it is a great choice for a budget vacation in Lake District. I had Room 1 which was on the ground floor close to the entrance (but further from bathroom). Spacious, neat room. Host says bring own toiletries but all you need is shower gel, the rest including towels and toilet paper was available. Location in Workington town is good, quiet, always had parking.
We were greeted very wamly, and got a beautiful, comfy room with a nice view of the hills. We felt like every detail was well considered and really made our stay exceptionally pleasant. Breakfast was made and served by our lovely hosts themselves, along with great travel advice.
If a 5-Star hotel and a loving family had a baby together, it would be this gem of a hostel!
Room is good value with all the expected facilities. Really nice bonus that for £10 extra you can use the facilities for the hotel across the road, including sauna, large swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym.
Breakfast was good, fairly priced and well worth it. Location is right in the town if you want to go to any bars or restaurants.
The hotel is not that bid and the atmosphere there is very nice. The staff and visitors are very friendly and open towards visitors. The food for dinner was great as well for a very fair price at that. My bed was very comfortable as well :) Breakfast is prepared individually and is very hot on arrival at the table.
The location was good and the breakfast was to die for(exceptional). The hostess Sue was at the door ready to greet us which was lovely. Beautiful accommodation and surrounding gardens. I would definitely recommend these cottages and I would also stay there again when visiting Workington. Thank you Sue.
Very helpful staff, rather a cosy home than a BB, quiet yet in the centre of city. Bars, Restaurants shops in walking distance. Comfortable bed, very clean shower and all facilities a good hotel could offer for a good price. I enjoyed the nice vegetarian Breakfast, fruits, etc ... and the good coffee.
Room, pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, Jane Street Breakfast and staff. All were very polite and helpful and one young girl waitress whom I didn’t catch the name of but had right pride colour umbrella earings was very professional in her manner and service. A credit to the hotel. 👍🏻
The staff were very nice and held my bags the next day while I toured the Lake District. The hotel is very close to the bus station that will take you everywhere in the Lake District. Its a great way to see the lakes and save money at the same time.
Lovely little cottage in a really nice quiet location of Workington. Super comfortable bed with nice soft bedding. Really clean. Everything you need for home to home environment. The little touches made it extra special. Will definitely stay again.
A nice hotel for a 1 night stay in Workington.
Staff were friendly.
Very good self service breakfast in the morning.
Close to town centre and a short drive from harbour and the sea.
