The room was clean and comfortable and very quiet despite its location on a busy road. The breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and lots of choice. We had dinner in the restaurant which was also good. I cannot fault the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful and ready to go the extra mile to make our stay special. Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again.

Old Welwyn us a sleepy, pretty little village, Welwyn Garden City (a couple of miles, if that) is a lovely little town, lots of restaurants and bars. London is 30 minutes by train. Stay here and commute in if you want a London holiday....

I was in the area to visit family and since they didn't have room for me I stayed in this hotel/restaurant/pub. It was very comfortable and the room was quiet even with the bar downstairs. The bed was comfortable, which is always important! I had the option to have my room refreshed every day if I chose to. Welwyn is a cute village and I always felt safe. I didn't eat in town since I was visiting family but there are lots of places to eat.

It is a lovely village with an very good selection of places to eat and drink. We enjoyed our walk around the village, it felt safe and welcoming. Very close to the M25 for journeys further afield. The surrounding countryside is beautiful too.

We were visiting the area for a particular reason and chose Welwyn because we were aware (a little bit) of it. We found the town very much to our liking; plenty of choice for evening meals and, surprisingly, very quiet at night.

I stayed there shortly, but there are some nice pubs around there. The Rose and the Crown (pub) was amazing and it has a very large garden through which you can enjoy the nice weather while drinking a couple of beers. It is highly recommended.
The Wellington (the boot not an old aeroplane!), is an old public house, central to the old partof Welwyn, with on-site parking at the rear of the pub.
The staff are excellent, although breakfast staff are somewhat overwhelmed, trying to serve both residents and early visitors to the pub. Anything on the breakfast menu is included in the room price.
Room are quirky but clean.
Location was perfect for us as going to Knebworth, really beautiful period hotel with individual rooms, exposed beams and masonry, with all the facilities you'd need. Not sure this hotel could meet the needs of a person with mobility issues, purely because it is a very old Inn, however we did not see all of the hotel just the area we stayed. Breakfast was superb
Hotel was comfortable characterful and charming. The rooms were large and had large bathrooms with nice baths and showers. The location was handy for access to the motorway and train station and shops and restaurants were within easy walking distance. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good, also the bar area was nice to sit for a drink.
The location with good parking, access to London via the excellent rail from welwyn garden station just a short taxi away from the hotel via taxi .Nice cosy accomation ,with good food and served by attentive staff..
I found the cottage very superb, very quaint and also very clean. I found the property in a very nice location and quiet the garden’s were very stunning and kept beautiful. Would recommend and come again.
A lovely place, really good bar and restaurant with great staff. Rooms were superb and clean. Would definitely stay again.
