The location was great with the river and walks that I took with my two dogs. The food was excellent. Room was clean and tidy and we got a good nights sleep in the large bed.

The decor is fantastic, from the oak beams & furniture throughout to the dog prints on the walls. My description does not really do it justice but the pictures on the web site give you an idea.

The very busy young lady that handled the check in, served at the bar and also worked alone in the restaurant was excellent!

Just very small village, close to other small villages in area, easy to access the A69 and onward to Newcastle. The area good for walking. There are a number of places to eat close by within about 3 miles. Excellent Indian Restaurant 5 min drive away, Khan's at Waterloo, and numerous Pub/Restaurants too within close proximity. Train Station in Weatheral just couple of miles down road with trains to Carlisle and Newcastle and villages in between Haltwhistle, and Hexham for a day out.

The staff really make this property. A quaint old fashioned pub / hotel, comfortable rooms, good beer and food, and a really pleasant, good natured set of staff who could not have done more to welcome up and help in any way they could. It’s a good location for stopping off at the motorway, and a really quiet to boot. Nice gardens and off road parking.
The location was nice and quiet, with no road noise. The hotel itself was lovely - loved the decor and was very clean. My room was a great size - loads of room to spread the contents of my suitcase everywhere! The owner was lovely and so friendly. She went out of her way to add extra item's on my husband's breakfast. Will definitely stay again!
The hotel was really lovely and exactly what we were after - quiet location in green spaces and most importantly, dog-friendly. They also let me keep my dog's food in the fridge which I thought was very kind. The breakfast and food overall was really good and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
Location spot on for Carlisle races and North/South travellers on M6. Well appointed hotel with good parking - bedroom spacious and very comfortable. Staff very friendly especially Stephanie the landlady - nothing was any bother - breakfast exceptional - would definitely stay again.
This was a last minute search while travelling home from Scotland. Super small hotel. The food was excellent. Rooms were clean and good. If I had known of this hotel on my way up to Scotland we would have used it.
Well done to all of the staff.
This hotel is welcoming, staff are great and they had a log fire burning. It’s so convenient just off the motorway and a great stop off driving back from Scotland. It even had lovely country walls that me and my dog enjoyed.
Great place to stay! We had our dog with us and they were extremely accommodating and helpful.
The hotel itself is fantastic and is a great location just a few minutes from the M6 but still well within the countryside
Hotel was very good value for money and all of the essential needs are very good. Good dinner and breakfast. I would go back especially as we were guaranteed something to eat even if we were a little late.
